Dear God, talk about anything other how to not get pregnant.

Sure you need to finances but please “sweetie, I don’t want you getting pregnant, so let’s take out that check book and I’m going to teach you how transpostional errors are always divisible by 9,”

I think you missed his point entirely, but seeing how this is going, it was probably on purpose.

No I didn’t, he just abdicated all responsibility to talk about sex and birth control to instead talk about personal finances.

Walk a mile in someone's shoes....and then complain about having no shoes. And then meet someone with no feet......

Totally missed it.
Money would be better spent on teaching finances because sex ed is a total waste of money just like the war on drugs education programs - both are total failures. You can teach it but you can't make them be responsible. Plenty of evidence to back that up. All of it goes back to the decline of responsible two parent families.

South Carolina requires that sexuality education covers:
What abstinence is and that it's the only completely effective method to prevent STIs and unplanned pregnancies.

we don’t even teach about condoms and Birth control in this state. Sex Ed is quote unquote a failure in this state because the politicians don’t want Sex Ed taught.

It isn't rocket science...
1. Don't commit crime
2. Graduate high school
3, Get a job...any job. The first one will probably involve a lot of manual labor. The military is always hiring.
4. Wait until you are married and have done the first three before you have children

If you do these four things you very little chance of ever being a ward of the state, and will likely have at least a middle class life.

Both programs are failures due to irresponsible individuals and the decline of responsible 2 parent families! Too many young people out there without the guidance of responsible parents.

I don't think sex ed its a total waste of time (and should be more comprehensive), but I also think personal finances should be taught as well. Life skills should definitely play a more prominent role in public education - that would end up benefitting everyone in the end.

Parenting should take place at home, not school.
Schools need to concentrate on the academics - they are failing in their area of focus.

My thoughts are that people should not make babies they can't afford. It's one thing to lose your job and need a little help. But being poor and spitting out babies is a lot of what's wrong with this country. Rewarding bad behavior begets bad behavior. And fatherlessness is an epidemic with all kinds of negative consequences.

Completely agree and thanks for the plain and simple expression of the real problem.
