I'm still on the Lebby train, but may be off if we lose to UMass (I think we will blow them out).

Anyone in the "know" have solid info on other candidates we seriously considered before hiring Lebby?

Lebby is fine, he just got screwed by Leach and Arnett recruiting and hired a terrible defensive staff. But we got a "no" from about 4 other coaches & we're just about radioactive at this point, so folks better stay in on Lebby because he's going nowhere and will get things better eventually.

I'd love to know other DC candidates when we hired Hutzler. I think offense is heading the right direction, but boy do we suck at D!

We may have for all I know, but I think we should have seriously considered Rich Rodriguez and Gus Malzahn. Experience makes a huge difference, I think. They both run offenses that are comparable to what has worked here in the past. Gus has a ton of experience in the SEC. Rodriguez has been a head coach at multiple major programs. Gus might have said thanks but no thanks. Rodriguez would have come in a heart beat.

Mind telling who the four were? Even if just speculation.

What about Clay Helton?

I know some high on Willie Fritz, I didn't see that all.

Gus is about to be on the hot seat.
