Our losses to Missouri & Florida are inexplicable.

Coulda been sitting on 10-2.
It really is mind boggling. What's even crazier to think about is that given how the season ended, we'd probably be sitting at #5 in the CFP poll right now had we won those games. Sitting on a 7 game win streak and two top 10 wins in the final two games, one could have made the argument that we were the hottest team I'm America. Instead, we're perhaps just the most schizo team in America. Lol

The saddest words known to man and pen “What could have been.” If only that offensive transformation had taken place earlier, we would have been sitting in the catsbird seat. What happened will be a question for the ages. A mystery that will still be pondered long after us old timers are gone. The offense we put on the field against either clem or ucheat would have rolled up tons of yards and scores against these two.

I can kinda understand UF wanting to get a little revenge from the beatdown they recieved a year ago. But to lose to Mizzou two years in a row, and to crap the bed both times and not look for revenge in the second game ourselves... unreal.

No Marshawn. He had a hangnail. Remember?

I *LOVE* JuJu but he's not a RB. He needs to be moved to Slot/WR - *AND* we shoulda used Joyner more and the side to side game. We definitely should have beaten Mizzu. FL is always iffy but I understand your sentiment. We got no RB's man...... I'm not real fond of the side to side game but I must admit, we ran it pretty well when we'd run it. - Also, not knocking Rattler but Beamer of all people should have had Rattler watching tape of Connor Shaw all day, every day. CS is the winningest QB in our history and he didn't do it with his arm. He did it with his feet + arm and it drove defenses crazy. He'd use his feet to pick up just enough for a 1st down and keep the chains moving. Often when there wasn't anything there. (duh) (duh on my part, dumb sentence) but you get the point.

Another 6-6 SEC team unfit for bowl participation disgraces itself and the SEC by losing to a pedestrian opponent. A team we never threatened to beat at home. Inexplicable and inexcusable.

They were not mentally ready to play those games and the other two teams were. No matter how good your team may be, you better wear your hard hat each week, upsets happen all the time in college football

Yeah it shouldnt happen, but getting excited to play an acc team must be difficult. On the other hand, who is not excited playing the SEC?

Bell .. not only did he not touch the ball against MO, he was NOT EVEN TARGETED ... for the life of me, I will never understand that. Not only that, CSB "publicly" defended Satt by rattling off a "personnel package for different players" comment ... merely a PR line, I get it, but the fact that Satt could do this is inexplicable ... he did not have a feel of the game ... go look at the video of the Clemson game and on the sideline .. it was an OL (I forget which one) that was calling and pleading to get the ball to Juice on that 3rd down (with just over a minute to go) ... an OL got it ... he did have the feel of the game ...

Inexplicable, yes. But also necessary. If we had found a way to eke our wins in those games, I don’t think we’d have beat UT or Clemson. Our offense hitting absolute rock bottom was the impetus for change.
You need to beat the teams you can match up with, especially a struggling team that you played at home, a team that has subsequently been proven bereft in every way - a disgrace to itself, its school, and the SEC. There's no way to turn that loss into something good. You surprise me right here.

Without a complete change to ,the play calling and blocking schemes, we would have been 6-6 So I am just happy the changes were made.
The disturbing thing is how those changes had to be engineered. But at least some adults took a hold.

We also could’ve beaten both of them and lost to Texas A&M and Clemson.

Cookies crumble different ways.

The way the mop flops is the way the mop flops. That's true with everything when you look back.

On the Gassy Gorilla bowl broadcast last night, it was said that Missouri hasn't had a winning record since 2018.....but they've been beating our butts. This needs fixing in 2023 & beyond. We should beat that program 8/10 times we play them at minimum, just like KY.

Don’t think that a loss to any SEC team should be called “inexplicable.” They all have a lot of good players.

There was also the loss to Arkansas.
It's pointless to beat oneself up with the wouda, shoulda, coulda, and the what if's.
Real good teams are consistent, yes there is the occasional and inexplicable hiccup, but on the whole they are consistent, and remain so.

I dont want to make too many excuses but the team had the flu against florida, that hurt

the mizzou game is the one that pisses me off, shane really **** the bed there, of course that game caused Tanner to rip him a new one (which is why shane is so testy all the time about it), and the good outcome was that was the game that got satt fired, and course corrected us to do something different on offense, which resulted in the best 2 wins in about a decade

of course you worry it has to come to that (intervention from the AD) for shane to course correct, that is still a red flag to may, shane has a propensity to put his head in the sand and be stubborn, he is also loyal to a fault I think with his staff

It is also possible if we go into the UT game 8-2, UT is ore focused and beats us. They were overlooking us completely. They were already planning their campaign to get in the CFP with an 11-1 record since all they had to do was beat a mediocre Carolina team and a bad Vandy team.

I think Clemson would have taken the game much more seriously if we had shown up 9-2 as well. Every Clemson fan I know thought our game was a gimme win even after we beat UT. Their take was; "that game showed how overrated the SEC is".

UT definitely overlooked us a little, but we were a different team as well. Not to mention, they had all the pressure on them and we had zilch.

I want to know what happened after that UF game. Something happened no doubt, and I'm dying to know the details, not just rumors.

I think most if not all of us knew, or at least suspected that Satt was putting too much detail on the players as if they didn't have classes or a personal life. The team reflected that, they all looked like they were thinking too much. I think CDL's press conference confirmed that, as he eluded to exactly that. I think we're in good hands with him FWIW.

Probably more like his contract was ending at the end of the year and wasn't going to be renewed. The resign or else for those who don't have contracts.
I'm not sure that was true after beating two top 10s in 2 weeks.

Possible....rumors, and as far as I know, they are just rumors, from a lot of Clemson friends and relatives is that Beamer was primarily calling the plays...and supposedly that is from the insiders on their sites.

At this point I don't know what to believe....but considering the drastic change, that makes as much sense as any, and may make more sense than Satt suddenly had a stroke of brilliance for the last two games.

It all starts with the Oline. Mizzou and Florida destroyed our Oline. The Oline played two of it's best games against Tennessee and Clemson. That was the difference.
