I suspect Mizzou and Florida knew what our plays were, via tells, or something. Not that we weren't already being unpredictable in the first place.
What did we really lose? We wouldn't even made the SEC championship game. Bama would have gotten the Sugar Bowl invite over us. The Orange Bowl would have been a no-go because it would have been a rematch with Clemson.Coulda been sitting on 10-2.
Ownership.Shouldn't you be on the Nebraska board?

This season will always be remembered for keeping UT and Clemson out of the playoff. No one will remember the losses to Mizzou and Florida except a few grumpy FGF posters.
The first 3 would have been nice, I agree. Point 4, however, would not have happened after two blowout losses at the beginning of the season.1. Chance for a rare 10 win season
2. Top 10 ranking
3. Finish the year ranked higher than Tenn and Clemson
4. In the conversation for the playoffs for the latter part of the year when that's all the talking heads talked about.
I'd say there's a lot we lost losing those two games.
I could make the case that we had bigger wins than bama and they we in the conversation from time to time...and that if you are gonna lose, best to do it early as opposed to Bama's later losses, but you are probably right. We are not Bama. The first 3 would have been nice, I agree. Point 4, however, would not have happened after two blowout losses at the beginning of the season.
W/O those two losses, we likely don't beat Tennessee and Clemson. Those two losses set us straight. I'll take the trade-off every day.Coulda been sitting on 10-2.
No one is in the eyes of the committee. Poor tenn. LolWe are definitely not Bama.
Ownership.
I'll be one of them, and gladly. 10-2 would have been an amazing year. Add a bowl win to that and you're getting into about the 98th percentile of college football success. Those teams you're talking about have gone on to have losing records without our help. Unacceptable. What did we really lose? We wouldn't even made the SEC championship game. I don't buy we *should* have beaten Florida in The Swamp. We never win there. Utah lost at Florida this year and the Utes are going to the Rose Bowl. The way we lost was unexpected, but maybe that lost refocused the team to finish strong and, man, they did finish the regular season like no team in Carolina history.I'll be one of them, and gladly. 10-2 would have been an amazing year. The UF team had not cratered at the time they beat the Utes. That came later - but not much later. It started with their home loss to Kentucky. And, yes, I'm prepared to say that the team which beat Tennessee and UPC should have beaten any team on our schedule that finished with a losing record, especially one that was languishing at the end.I don't buy we *should* have beaten Florida in The Swamp. Now I agree we really should have beaten Mizzou. 9-3 is better than 8-4, but I'm not losing any sleep over it.
