The real question is how far up the Susquehanna have they found bull sharks? 😳

Not sure about that but:

The furthest inland a bull shark has ever been seen in North America is Alton, Ill. Alton sits along the Mississippi River about 15 miles north of St. Louis, and 1750 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. It was there that two commercial fishermen in 1937 noticed that their mesh traps were consistently getting raided by a large predator.

Sure, let the cute little girl pet the bull shark. What could happen? Why, he's even tied-up and I'm sure he is very dead!

Wow! Mrs. LionJim and I grew up not far from there. Never knew sharks swam that far up the Mississippi. I see now, that was back in 1937, perhaps all the dams they've put up on the Mississippi put a stop to their northbound voyages.

He won't like those 20 degree temps this weekend.
Found this short story
Thought you might like this.....

Is it possible to raise an alligator to be a good family pet, or is it in their nature to be a hunter no matter what?

"No. Absolutely not."

"Having said that, I grew up with a pet alligator. He was around 3’ long when my grandfather tossed him into the lake at his farm. Prior to that, Herman lived in a bathtub.

Herman came when he was called. My grandfather would go to the end of the dock, fire a shot into the air, then bellow “Heeer maaaan!” And then the head would appear out over the water, like a surfacing submarine, with the tail far behind swishing through the water.

Herman would swim to the dock, whereupon my grandfather would toss him day-old bread from every bakery in Shreveport. Herman was NEVER fed meat by hand or when called, as my grandfather didn’t want him associating humans with meat. He kept the lake stocked, and would leave sides of beef on the shore away from the dock.

By the time I was old enough to swim (I swam early, so I was 3 or 4) Herman was over 5’ long. I swam in that lake pretty regularly, and never once saw him. Years later, when my grandfather sold the farm, Herman was over 8’.

Yes, my sister and I swam in that lake, knowing an alligator lived there.

We were encouraged to do so by our mother, who had zero fear. I now know her complete lack of fear was due to her undiagnosed mental illness. There is no way I would ever recommend small-for-their-age 3 year old girls swim with a 5–7’ alligator.

But I have good memories! There are pictures of Herman. I’ll add them when I dig them out.

As noted in comments: Herman was “familiar” with us, and also was “well-fed.” But I do not believe in a “tame” alligator. He could have killed us on a whim. Thank goodness he didn’t get that whim!"

Why can't polar bears break into an igloo and demolish it entirely, despite being one of the strongest land mammals?

They can.
However, in general, Inuit preferred to not spend the nights on sea ice in the winter, and that’s where the bears are. It’s rare to see a bear when you are travelling inland.
In modern times, you never bring your gun inside an igloo, but you leave it outside right by the head of where you will sleep, and you bring your paanaa (snowknife) inside. If a bear attacks, you cut the wall and get the gun.
