JF will be working the phone lines hard for WR in the portal. Sounds like they want an experienced WR to help with all the young WR PSU has on the roster.

Time will tell, but I would be very surprised if he doesn't land in a spot that makes serious $$$ - 4th round picks get, IIRC, 4 year contracts at about $4 million (total) with $1.5 million or so guaranteed first year (with the signing bonus). Higher than that, of course, for 3rd round and up.

With Fashanu staying, Washington may be the 2nd PSU guy off the board (after Porter) IMO

As much as we go gaga over Warner and Carter, it behooves us to remember that they were each just one player in a deep running back room also. Enis too, he had Harris alongside him.
We only have RB committed for 2023 and he's coming off major knee surgery. They definitely need him back.

Despite Franklin’s “elite” recruiting and coaching, PSU doesn’t have an RB on roster like this.

The video clip demonstrates how much PSU Football has regressed and why Franklin’s preference for explosive finesse football involving smurfs won’t ever be successful.

Another PSU player enters the draft a year early.
I think he good but lot of good players fail to make teams every year in the nfl. I wish him well, I think he’ll need some it at the next level

I wish him luck, but this reminds me of the Freddie Scott decision.

Scott had to strike while the iron was hot; being the #2 receiver in that offense was like playing RW on the first line with Lemieux - he wasn’t going to have a better year after that….that said, you never know. Scott may have been drafted after being the #1 guy.

That was always puzzling to me, Freddie Scott.

and this did not turn out to be the best decision for all of them. Had PW continued his play level to the last game and not had season ending injury, this would have been a better decision. when will he even be able to train for the Combine or pro days? players hurt late do not always work out.

Right?!? Because that's what all the stud teams do nowadays.

Troll fail.

PSU's record with Aaron Harris on the roster ... 11-2, 9-3, 9-3, 10-3. In Franklin's tenure, that's considered "mediocre" and worthy of replacement by the racist Franklin-haters.

Oh, and Harris' best season - his frosh year - saw him post 105 attempts for 587 yards and 5.6 YPC as a secondary option behind Enis.

Singleton posted 149 attempts for 941 yards and 6.3 YPC.
K Allen posted 156 attempts for 830 yards for 5.3 YPC.

And hopefully, unlike a number of our old "power backs" these kids keep their knees intact, without all the extra weight and heavy workload.

Scott's numbers dropped off precipitously in 1995 - even with Engram still as the #1 receiver.
From around 1000 yards and 9 TDS in 1994, to around 300 yards and 1 TD in 1995.
So, even after 1995, the iron was far from "hot". Scott left (early) DESPITE his numbers having already fallen off a cliff.

The difference from 1994 to 1995 (Engram was. of course, still there) was the change at QB (How many times was Scott running free downfield, and Richardson either flung the ball out of bounds, or ten yards over his head? The one thing Richardson simply couldn't do was make downfield throws - which was Scott's calling card) I don't think I have ever before (or since) seen a player so visibly "disgusted" on the field, as when watching Scott walk over to the sidelines after another lost opportunity.

Given that those struggles persisted after Scott left (Richardson had something like 6-8 TD throws the entire 1996 season), I don't think it would be reasonable to assume that coming back for that 1996 season would have likely led to a resurgence for Scott.

Wow---I am sorry....short term reckless thinking.

This is not a wise move.

Play another year, get faster, improve your draft status.

$750K is nothing....Federal tax-State Tax based on NFL team, Agent fees, various other NFL Fees...

My issue with these guys are that they dont think long term...What is the back up plan? Coaching? crappy entry level sales job?

This Opinion is Not based on selfish Penn State WR needs.....purely about who are the people advising these kids?
None of these coaches and staff really understand the working world and what is outside their sports bubble SMH

There is no way Parker could have played a game like Godwin played against BC in Yankee stadium.
You sure about that?

Godwin vs BC ... 7 catches, 140 yards and a TD.
Washington's numbers against Ohio State this year... 11 catches, 179 yards and a TD.

I'll go out on a limb and say this year's Ohio State defense might be a bit better than BC's in 2014.

well done and thank you for the correction. I stand corrected. I am a big Chris Godwin fan and overlook a lot on his behalf. So first, I love me some Parker Washington. Second, as a +50 year Lion fan, I do struggle at naming a WR who took the weight of a team so to speak at that position on his shoulders, certainly Robinson, but few and far between. That BC game, the Rose Bowl with #13 ruled out and the Indiana game at Bloomington when they took Barkley out of the game Belichekian style were games that forever cast him as a legend in my eyes. BUT thanks for the facts on Parker.

No problem, Charlie. I agree with you about Godwin. I feel the same with Allen Robinson. Those guys were just special. Is Parker Washington in the same class? I would agree that he's probably a rung or two lower on the ladder. I don't think Washington is even on par with Jahan Dotson or KJ Hamler. Close, but just in my opinion, not quite the same.

I only bring up the Ohio State game this year because I couldn't believe how good Parker was playing. It seemed he was all over the field and catching anything and everything in his direction.
