Questioning Cael and Co in any manner at this point is just laughable. He doesn’t care who we want to see in the dual meets or in the lineup in general. He makes choices based on what’s best for the team and each individual wrestler. He routinely has the team peaking in March, when it counts. Complaining about anything at this point in the season, during the first dual meet, sounds like a spoiled child asking for a better toy.
Did something happen in the past decade that makes you believe this is true? This is the BWI board. We know what is best! 🤣

Regarding Levi, at the pre-match social, Cody said Levi tweaked his knee at the Army Open in his first match. The staff wanted to hold him out of subsequent matches, but Levi insisted on wrestling because of the new rule that would would result in a loss on his record and he didn't want that. After consultation with the training staff, Levi was allowed to continue. Cody said the staff understands the new rule was installed because some coaches were forfeiting to preserve seeds, but medical staffs across the country are pushing back. The Penn State staff does not care for the rule, figuring they will see the ducks eventually.

Plus he was wrestling up a weight.
Thanks for the observation on wrestling up a weight class. That is no easy task and good for development. I stand by my observation of wrestling not to lose.
If the bout lasted 2 more seconds, would he have been happy with or regretted his strategy? We will never know what the outcome would have been if he wrestled more aggressively in the 3rd period. I believe Cael is being candid when he says he would prefer a guy try to score as it is gives them more to coach (paraphrasing).
