for sure. Even when they were seniors, a part of me was still concerned that they would do some silly, stupid thing.

I have no kids, but sometimes I remember some of the things I did back then and cringe. On the other hand, I’ve been in town since 1990 and have witnessed so much impaired behavior that this seems perfectly plausible at face value. Apparently there was a similar incident at The College of New Jersey in 2006.

It wasn’t the roof, according to security video, she crawled into the trash chute on the 11th floor.

If it was a “blunt” it sounds like it could have been laced with PCP. The freak out type of behavior she apparently had is the type of a reaction that PCP users would have. But I have not heard of anyone using PCP in recent years so I don’t ev know if it’s around anymore.

I seem to remember a student falling to their death from a balcony when I was student mid-90's.

And there were several trash chute deaths in a tall apartment building in Baltimore about a decade ago, so it's a thing that happens.

Most trash chutes I have seen in buildings has 2 doors, a larger one for people to walk into the small room and a 2nd one that is usually about 2 feet by 2 feet and it only opens partially to stuff the bag into it. The smaller door will usually close after you let go, so it would be fairly difficult to try and climb into it. Based on the story, they did not say if there is video of someone following her into the room.

Same here lions95, my daughter who lived in several apt buildings while attending school, told me you're lucky to stuff a shopping bag down the trash chutes

I read several other articles and they said she fell into the trach chute? She was definitely running from some one. What kid leaves their phone behind in a stairwell. I think there is more to the story that is not out yet. Either way, very sad all around. To be found at the trash dump is even worse. This poor family.

I don't know. She was supposedly "smoking" with a friend. Anymore with the fentanyl showing up everywhere, things are very dangerous. I find it interesting that the friend is being talked about as someone on the scene and not someone that can potentially be charged in her death. With the in between marijuana laws right now people are often confused with the legality of the product.
