I want to know how this is going to affect my seats. Will I be charged more. It looks like seating will change. The question is how will it change.

I like how the rendering has a few dozen patrons meandering about in a large bar/food area. Yeah. How about some organized lines for service and less 2020's bleak restaurant/bar design?

The one thing I immediately noticed when I went to the Temple game in 2015 at the Linc was how much better organized and spacious the food vending areas were than the Beav. It was such a better experience when trying to navigate getting food and drink and then getting back to your seats. Heinz Field is the same. I’m hoping for something more along those lines.

I’ll leave it at that and exit this conversation before the hard core b*tching and moaning starts.

Just for fun, PSU should troll SCum by announcing projected capacity at about 100 higher than them.

Watch them start another dig (they're getting closer to their maker every decade) and another few rows of seats added.

So $700 million to add some concessions/ bathrooms and only rebuild 1 of the 4 sides of the stadium? Seems like a lot of money for the end result.
IIRC, while seating in other areas of the stadium won't change much, a lot of work will be done on concourses throughout the stadium to improve people movement (as well as concessions/restrooms). There will also be ground level work and escalator additions to make getting to and from seats easier. Certainly $700 million is a lot of money but as the university release stated, everyone should see improvement in their game day experiences.

Hopefully. 🤞

NFL stadiums like the Linc and Heinz Field have so many fewer people than Beaver Stadium which makes a huge difference. The Linc seats 68K compared to the 106K at Beaver Stadium. And I wouldn't be surprised if those NFL stadiums are physically larger footprints as well so there's just more space to put in amenities.

How much do you think it costs to build a new stadium? Stadium in Vegas which holds 66k was $2 BILLION and they did not have to demo a quarter of a stadium either.

Other stadiums also did not have to have the new stadium game ready in 8 months.

To be honest, I am not sure they will be ready. A little bad weather and they are screwed.

So interesting buy tickets in west side but you can’t change seats this year. All upper west side seats are available? That is surprising. Good thing I miss the first game. 🤣

Where is the new Press Box?
It's been ordered.

Pay attention to what? The video clearly shows all 4 sides with only the west stands changed. Plus, prior to this video, getting any real info out of PSU on the Beav renovations was like getting blood from a stone.

I’m slow and did not know the following from this article:

”Penn State has said from the start that it intends not to reduce capacity once the renovations are complete.”

Back when Sandy was in charge (our golden age), I recall discussions of reducing the number of seats (chairbacks and related horse-a$$).

Yes, I’m well aware. But they also have a better designed concourse to handle the flow of people. There’s no crisscrossing of lines to get into the concessions and bathrooms and then back into the seating areas. The concourses are much wider. It is a far better stadium design.

Will any of the new concourses provide shelter during lightning evacs?

Yes, but they are showing Phase 1, which is underway. They aren’t putting escalators, elevators, wider concourses, and bathrooms only on the west side. Redoing the facade is going to happen, too.

I still can't believe that Real Madrid was able to do this for 1 Billion, and for 700 million, we get to rebuild one side?
