Penn State WR Omari Evans set to enter transfer portal

Well, zero catches for the WR room in the playoff game so it can’t really get much worse. They have a sure handed USC transfer WR coming in and a very productive WR from Troy. Both are on the smaller side. They also have four 4 star freshman coming in and a few guys from last years class, highlighted by Tyseer Denmark. Long story short….time will tell.
Rumors are that Fran Ganter was still walking around on PSU campus looking for WR's to fill the roster - "He actually said this during a game on the sidelines when they were dropping balls like hot potatoes".
Sorry. 24/7 has Howard and Samuel listed as 3 stars. They also have Exinor listed at TE because of his size, but he was recruited as a WR. He may end up as a tweener like Juwan Johnson.

USC transfer is not on the smaller side. Big body slot receiver.
Hopefully Fleming does not leave… we could not replace all that production!

Evans could do one thing and that’s run a go pattern. He was a terrible route runner had questionable hands couldn’t block and didn’t appear to be very tough. At this point, I would think Denmark can give us at least the same production next year.
So he won't be on the team next year. My question is, how will we know?
We are in a bad spot here. Through portal and graduation we have lost WR1, WR2 and WR3. We have marginal portal guys coming in and the underclassman are unproven to the nth degree. Ouch.

At first glance I thought the same thing, but the floor here is zero catches in the biggest game of the year.

Joel Klatt had an interesting take on his Monday podcast regarding Allar’s interception at the end of the ND game. He praised Allar for taking the blame on the INT when Klatt felt that the receiver ran a terrible route.

On the other hand, our WR group was so disappointing that our OC refused to call plays designed specifically to them. It can’t get worse. It can only get better.
Hudson and Ross are upgrades over Evans. Denmark WR1, Cliff and Outten at the slot. I like it!
