Lots of Love from Nitt Nation Bo Bassett. Love for you and your teammate Jax F to join PSU. Hope Bo has a great time on Campus this weekend. Marcus Blaze who is a Sr should be committing to a school any day now too.

No. I haven’t heard anything. Praying he comes to PSU. Young man could reach all his dreams under our Staff plus all the positive Elite wrestlers in the room. He could be training with Zain all the time now. Zain was hired as a Coach for NLWC. Both right around the same weight.

Not sure if/ where this should go, if at all. Spent several days in NEPA last week visiting family & friends and stayed at a B&B whom we are also friends of. Guy & his wife up from FL who had come in to watch their son, who rows Crew @ LaSalle U. His wife had an accent and turns out she rowed in crew as well, in Russia. They were sightseeing and mentioned they found a wonderful place to buy pumpkins, decorations, etc. Said they had been to Retherfords Farm Market in Benton about 15 miles away from where we stay and the guy had spent a few minutes talking with this really nice guy, beard, in-shape, muscular who helped with their shopping. They had a great time there.

I told him that was Zain Retherford, a three time NCAA champ, a US Olympic team member, (they knew he had gotten hurt and had to MFF out of the tourney; my brother’s hero) whom we affectionately call ‘Popeye’ (due to his sizable biceps and mastery over pumpkins :). I said that Zain was the guy on the stage who spoke on behalf of the team with former President Trump @ the State College rally.

The guy and his wife got all excited as they were going back to do some more shopping, engage in more discussion and couldn’t wait to run into him again. They were all smiles. Made their day. Mine too.

Its interesting with Bo, the Wednesday school elimination updates have just stopped altogether. This coming Wednesday will be 3 weeks since he's dropped a school off the list (at least publicly). Not much info coming out of the visit this weekend so far. I would guess that DT and Oklahoma St. might be the biggest threat with Iowa and Ohio St. being in his finalist group as well. I think they will try to throw a bag at him and I think he may be actually turned off by that...just the impression I get from him. Penn State truly checks all the boxes he has, but stranger things have happened.

From what I can tell, IMO the top 3 contenders will be PSU, OKST, and anOSU.

The next 3 will probably be Iowa, Rutgers, and Cornell, not necessarily in that order.

Rutgers has made him a priority and he's been receptive, plus Gibson is apparently enjoying being there. Cornell has Yianni and Shapiro in his weight range.

His dad's social media shot at Iowa, plus their lack of RTC focus and training partners tells me he'll keep them around for leverage with other schools.

One other factor: how close he wants to be to family. OKST and Iowa are pretty far away, the others relatively close. I don't see his dad closing up the training club and moving the family, at least not until Keegan enters college.

Take all of that FWIW.

I have a strange feeling that Bassett and Forrest end up @ OKST. Hope I am wrong.

Bo did pause the weekly eliminations. Between Who's #1, Super 32, and official visits, his changing of his schedule (so to speak), seems understandable. However, he did get back to eliminating a school this week -- the day after you made your post. His previous elimination had been on Oct. 9, when he eliminated Air Force. This Wednesday (11/6), he eliminated Princeton.

The schools still in contention:

- Arizona St.
- Cornell
- Iowa
- Iowa St.
- Michigan
- Mizzou
- Nebraska
- North. Iowa
- Ohio State
- Okla. St.
- PSU
- Pitt-Johnstown
- Rutgers
- VT

I think we all know he ends up at Pitt-Johnstown.

I think DT and Ok. St. will give him a lot to think about, but with these distance trips, Bo has mentioned every time how far away they are. The bottom line is that he doesn't need to leave his back yard to have absolutely everything that is important to him. Penn State literally checks every box he has. The best RTC in the country and its not even close. Everything with DT is visionary right now and who knows, maybe the thought of being in on the building process of that at Ok. St. is attractive to Bassett. My personal opinion is that this is going to come down to Penn State and Ok. St. being the two from which he chooses and that distance will be a factor....again, just my personal thoughts.

i don’t have any intel, but DT is going to attract a lot of high end talent. I hope Bo chooses Penn State though.

The decision should be obvious to every top wrestler… unless, like Spencer Lee, he just wants to be different!

Do tell…
Lee made his thought process public after he committed.

Basically: he attended Olympic Trials at Iowa City, sat next to Matt McDonough, and saw both finalists at his weight were Hawks.

He had nothing but praise for PSU, and his only criticism was one school's negative recruiting (widely believed to be Ohio State).

Thanks I was aware of this and the 3 ring binder nonsense. I assumed Spice had some juicy Lee recruiting story beyond that.
