My #1 must get is satisfied. I am a very very happy guy. This kid is incredible, and he won't disappoint. Cael has done it again, and Marcus clearly is where he can become the best version of his already incredible self.
I am in the minority it seems, but I like Blaze better than Jax or Bassett, and despite the long silent journey, who can't respect the total class this kid has shown through his recruiting process!
Between Lilledahl, PJ Duke and now Marcus, Cael's undefeated record might just get threatened this next lineup cycle. We are truly blessed.
Nice to see a post from you,
@Goggles Paisano. Wrestling season must be about to start.
Blaze is just an amazing wrestler. He would be a valued member of any team with whom he signed.
Blaze vs. Jax or Bo is an interesting concept. As others have noted, Bo appears to have grown bigger than Blaze, and projects (to the extent that any future weight projections are accurate) at a higher weight than does Blaze in college, so I'll avoid comparing them. I'd be happy to see both of them on PSU's roster in the future. Jax vs. Blaze is somewhat of a contrast in styles. Jax is an amazing scrambler, and has no shortage of offensive skills. Blaze may not have the offensive repertoire that Jax does, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. Jax seems to be a more frequent shooter, whereas Blaze seems to be really technically sound offensively (and it all other positions). Currently, Blaze and Jax do seem to be pretty close in terms of weight. Weight projection comparisons for the two are even fuzzier (than my earlier caveat) with Jax being a year behind Blaze in school.
It's becoming the norm for CS and staff that they continue to land some of the top talent in the country. As fans we almost take it for granted the unending verbals of all-star wrestling talent, but it's unprecedented how well CS and staff recruit, and how consistently they do so. When a group of studs are nearing the end of their time at PSU, as a fan you can't help but wonder if the team can continue the success. And then you look at the young talent on the team, and the incoming talent, and it's hard not to just smile.
