Per Auburn Rivals site and Sevendust on BDJ about Cam Newton:

"Auburn never gave a verbal offer."
"Doesn't look good for the Tigers now."

Auburn rivals and scout boards say Newton to MSU. Robertson says the same. Lots of smoke here that we will be happy on Thursday. Sevendust has a rivals membership to every site. I guess when he was a mod at Bulldogblitz gave him access. He can read their premium stuff. Looks like Auburn is crawfishing on the Newton situation.

So Auburn did not offer him? Do we know for sure if OU even offered him? Looks like we were battling it out with K-State for Newton. Wonder why he did not have more offers? Dont get me wrong, he is a difference maker but does not make sense.

We will be much improved if we do indeed land him, but I don't think we will be a game away from winning the west.

He should be excited. This gives TR a chance to slowly work into things. By his Junior year (if he proves to be as good as we hope he is), he ought to be ready to ball.

The West is an Arkansas/Bama/LSU race next year, and I'm leaning toward it being more Arkansas/Bama.

in a disappointing year. And the fact that our players are still practicing, which should help with next year.

Dont 17ing act like you go to bowl games like the Cotton Bowl in "disappointing years." The Rebels laid a big 17ing turd this year. You know it and we all know it. The only reason you are going to the Cotton Bowl is because of your ***** *** schedule and impressive wins over Memphis, Vandy, UAB, UNA and a retard in Les Miles.

that Bama will still be a little better than Ark, who will be a little better than everybody else (assuming Mallette stays).

After that I'd be scared to make any predicitons. I'm assuming LSU has the talent to compete with Alabama if the hat gets his **** together but could finish as far back as fifth. I would guess that Ole Miss would be terrible but I'm actually still scared of Nutt when he has no expectations. Auburn I would expect to take a step back on offense b/c of qb, but don't know about defense. If State played up to it's ability like it did this year (but actually won some close games), I wouldn't be shocked to see State finish second. But even if the Stars aligned (Mallette leaves, LSU and UGA still struggle, Au doesn't find a qb, UM is as bad as expected, we hire a decent DC), state still has to go to Florida and Bama, which I think puts second place as a ceiling. I also wouldn't be surpsied to see state finish 4th, and of course I'll never be shocked to watch a State team implode.

I don't think that's what he's saying. But it is still nice to be disappointed in going to the Cotton Bowl, whether that's a regular occurrence or not, and it's not. We had a disappointing season and even lost the Egg Bowl, but we're still going to the Cotton Bowl. And no it was not just due to our OOC schedule. If you went by the SEC standings alone, we would've been 4th behind Alabama, Florida, and LSU.

It'll be hard to stop an offense led by Newton. He's a stud. I think your defense probably costs you a game or two resulting in a 10-2 type year. Bama will not lose more than one conference game.

6-2 at best next year in conference. They have too much schedule- Fla, State, Auburn, @LSU, @UPig, @Tenn, @SC i think...Kentucky rotates off their schedule and they get Fla

has been orchestrated in Ninja fashion to coincide with, and interfere with, Mississippi's in-state media coverage of the cotton bowl. Templeton is gone people. We've got an AD that understands PR.

but 11-1 is beating everyteam we're even slightly better than, even though we will not have a huge talent advantage in many of the games, and taking a game at UF or Bama. Ark, Georgia, @LSU, @Houston (if Keenum stays) are all dangerous games, and I would call @UM dangerous unless they are truly awful. 9-3 is possible. If we get a good DC and Newton really is the stud everyone thinks, I would expect 10-2 to be in reach if unlikely. I would say 11-1 is a possibility in the same sense that it is a possibility that we will run the table at the NCAA's this year and win a NC in basketball.

The Ninja's plan this whole time has been to make sure the Cotton Bowl gets all crunked up for the Rebels.

they just decided not to play the dad's game, just as MSU didn't play it. And in the end, Newton is simply choosing the school he really wants to go to.

but this is just another level of speculation and hearsay. I think the Auburn folks had it in their head that he would commit shortly after his visit. After all, Auburn is the logical choice, Starkville sucks, etc. etc. etc. Whatever. Anyhow, now that he hasn't confirmed anything, they are most likely getting cold feet and having a mild freak out since the commit they thought was in the bag hasn't said anything yet.

I still think the only people that know where Cam is signing is Cam and Cecil. It's nice to hear they are becoming a little nervous at Auburn, but I'm not letting this news get my hopes up.

Arkansas will not challenge for the West with or without Mallet. You have to have a great defense. Their defense is young, but I don't see them being great.

Do you guys know how lucky you are to be in the Cotton Bowl? If the SEC West wasn't "down" or "comepetitive" which ever you prefer, you guys would be in the liberty bowl. 4-4 doesn't usually get you in there. You guys only won ONE more SEC game than we did, and we easily could have beaten LSU. There are three 3-5 SECW teams. You guys are very fortunate to be where you are. I wouldn't call it disappointing to be in the Cotton Bowl. You shouldn't even be disappointed to do what you guys did. Nutt always lays an egg when expectations are high. You should have already known that.

I hope OK ST beats the every living **** outta Mississippi!
