Last night’s triumph was the largest margin of victory (55pts) in the Cael era… 7 guys were top 3 in their weight class!

Only lose RBY and Dean who accounted for 23.5 pts last night

PSU will have 7 guys who return with 113 pts. Expecting a transfer or two. Any rumors of such out in Tulsa this weekend?

The margin of dominance is getting wider.

since Cael, it’s the first time Iowa has finished 2nd to PSU. Early contenders next yr are Cornell and O$U. Iowa will slip. Here is the national place comparison vs. Iowa.

Next year?
125-Howard
133-Davis
141-BB
149-SVN
157- Levi
165-Facundo
177-CS?
184-Brooks
197-?????
HWT- Kerk
1 true Fr @133, 2 in their last year Brooks and Kerk, 1 total unknown based on comments yesterday re: CS, a rebound by Facundo and a healthy year at 125 for RH.
And that’s probably both the half of it and the fun of it…….

I could be wrong but I believe Kerk has 2 years left if he wants to use both.

I’m wondering if Levi will take his redshirt if CStar and Brooks take their Olympic RS next year.

Saw Cael’s presser from last night. He ain’t impressed. Actually seemed agitated. The guy is on such a different level. Mere mortals don’t get it. He ain’t here to win championships. He is here to serve and he is using wrestling as his vehicle. He’s a mystic of sorts. Winning is his right but there are more important things happening. His temple is the Lorenzo complex.

Five Guys!

First 4 championships, the avg. MOV was 12 pts.. The last 6, it has been 34 pts. and that includes an 8 pt victory over the Buckeyes in 2018.

Cael is ramping and running it up… with a 55 pt. victory last night, best ever. They win with their top 5 scorers getting over 100 pts. This tournament they got the best contribution, so far, from the others at 36.5… but their top 5 would have still won the tournament by 19 pts.

The duals and other tournaments are simply used to get to that “top five” for nationals. He might punt when he knows he doesn’t have a five or they aren’t ready. But 2020 and 2021 weren’t to be punt years. Circumstances foiled the plan. Heck, there are no more punt yrs..

Only once, since 2016, has he not had 5 finalists and that’s when he had 4 and lost to Iowa in 2021. Kerk and Berge weren’t quite ready. In 2020, although CoVid derailed it, Cassar, Conel, and Shak got dinged up otherwise they were ready to battle Iowa.

Who says this team doesn’t get injured, too?

That is the secret formula. Five Guys!

Think about this statistic...of the 10 possible weight classes, in 7 weights we have 7 wrestlers in either first, second or third place at nationals! Amazing!
Those 7 had 5 losses among them, all to a (the) national champ.

I have reached out to them in NoVa but have not gotten a response. "Five Guys" permeate more than wrestling... Anyone have a contact at their corporate headquarters in Lorton?

Iowa is planning on 3 titles in a row with addition of the Ferarri gang. Iowa is pretty desperate to win, at any cost.
