Do we still have a Chinese Department to use to influence him to come here?
Historically we had a great Asian Studies Department. Not sure if that's still the case. Dr. Tsai was a great guy....he and I used to ride the #31 bus from Penn Station when I was at the Prep. It always impressed me that a college professor would deign to talk to an SHP kid.

I'm confident he will. So? Why is that different than Sanogo or Clingan or Reed doing it?

UConn would have a center to drop numbers on us regardless of what Hines elects to do.

The fact that it's Hines doing it just isn't relevant.

This is a business and Hines can do whatever he wants. We don't own anybody and nobody has an obligation to take a less amount of NIL just because you're a fan.

And I'm not gonna sit here getting c*nty over it.
Again with the money Carmine?

Aaron Bradshaw to Tennessee State. I believe someone posted he visited us recently. Smh
Tenn State???? If accurate, we dodged a bullet. This kid has had pedigree and high majors around him forever, and if he ends up there it tells you all you need to know. I get Nolan Smith is an up and comer poised to do well there and move on eventually, but I have to imagine their NIL isn’t close to what other high majors can offer.

We’re not a high major

Bradshaw has talent that we could use. But he has been an underachiever as a 5-Star coming out of HS and had issues at other schools in his career. He was "fined NIL money" last season at Memphis for skipping meetings, being late, etc. And he had a "domestic issue" while at Ohio State. Perhaps we (and other HMs) backed off for that reason as he's definitely too talented to be at Tennessee State.

I don’t know. Bradshaw is a fouling machine with a pretty bad defensive rating for a big with that kind of physique.

He can score when he’s on the floor, but it seems he would either foul or give up as many points as he scores.

Remember that 7’2” Romanian/Italian center at K-State last year. Had a nice game against us and a couple other solid games. Well he just committed to Rutgers. A rim protector to back up their center from Virginia Tech. If we get a guy like that, he’d be our starting center.

Rutgers did a good job in a tough market for Bigs. I really like Gurdak and hoped we had a shot with Nelson having a relationship but Rutgers has more money and were aggressive.

He was only a Freshman but he reminds me of a younger Duke Brennan from Nova.. He's a Big who does his work in the paint, excellent offensive rebounder and is a good finisher at the rim with both hands. He's not an explosive athlete but knows how to use his body well to shield defenders and draw contact. He draws a lot of fouls and is a 70% FT shooter. Extremely efficient offensive game who also grades as a good defender though he's not a shot-blocker.

I think he'll be a good 22-25 minute starter with Buca being his backup as a very good rim protector. Then you have Ware as the 3rd-stringer and wildcard. Rutgers likes his potential.

This guy is rated as the #7 JUCO prospect by Jucorecruiting.com. Seems like a Wing Forward listed at 6'9" 210 pounds.

In 32 games he averaged 12.7 points & 5.0 rebounds in 22.5 minutes.

Shot 49.6% FG%, 42.6% from 3 (40-94), 74.5% FT%

Not a disruptive defender with only 9 steals and 7 blocks

Guy has some talent but can't stay healthy. Tore his groin and had season-ending surgery in January. Would be a major risk.

Was looking at him yesterday and thought to myself that Shaheen would have a meltdown that the kid has only played 40 games in 3 seasons.

did he really play well? I know nothing about buca other than dont remember being impressed and thought the k state fans greeted him like our fans greeted gus. I assune he was better than I remember?

He had more points, rebounds and blocks than Payne in that game and played 2 minutes less.

Rutgers has signed some players who are worth being envious over. Dorin Buca isn’t one of them. He’s terrible.
You may be correct he is terrible however that being said he had both Hines and Payne in foul trouble with 4 each and he played only 17 minutes and had 5 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.

When we play RU he will make mince meat out of us unless we have someone in the low post who is better. What are the odds of that at this point?

Buca won’t be making mince meat out of anyone. He stinks. In addition to that, he is slow and plodding. Shaheen likes agile bigs who can hedge hard and recover.

There are plenty of things to complain about right now. This isn’t one of them.

We should have countered with Mbaye to neutralize him. 😁

An overlooked factor in the success of 1-year portal additions is fit, and as you mentioned, Buca is not a good fit for Sha's defense. He was also in a terrible situation at Kansas State in an up-tempo offense filled with chuckers and a coach who clearly lost the team.

He could carve out a useful role in Pikell's slow-tempo, defensive-centric system as a 10-12 minute rim-protector and post defender who hits the offensive glass and flushes a lob or 2. The Big10 traditionally has tall, post-oriented Centers - it helps to have a guy who is massive and swat some shots.

Slow and plodding but he got the job done against us so what does that tell you?

Can’t believe ai am saying this but we are shaping up to be worse than 2 years ago. We have zero bigs and looks like the rest of what’s available is pretty trash. Tough times for Seton Hall.

We should all be grateful that Sha hasn’t jumped yet. I think the buck stops soon. We just can’t compete in this landscape and there is really not much to look forward to unfortunately.
