Depends on whether he wants to give up his youth and grow up really fast.
The money will still be there after a couple of years of college.

Yes. I’m not completely sold on the thought of him signing. I guess a lot also depends on his feelings behind the new hire and no longer playing for Kingston. Also, going to the wasteland that is the Miami Marlins could play a part. Just curious what others think.

However, according to ESPN they are planning on paying him below slot money in order to have more for later picks. Not sure why but that would cause me to pause as player wondering why you draft me this high with plans to pay me less than what slot says I should be paid. its a little odd to me but I am sure happens alot.

Can't find any articles that say anything other than he's "certain" to sign with Miami.

That’s a crap shoot. Ask Brandon McIlwain when he came here for football. I am also friends with a gentleman that was drafted by the O’s out of highschool, went to college and never drafted again.

"ESPN’s Jeff Passan said the Marlins picked him higher than he was projected because the team struck a team-friendly financial deal with him in order to have more money to use on other picks in their draft pool."

Thx for posting that.
Some place high value on living their youth so they don't regret it later in life and some do not. It's a personal choice.

Yeah. It's not like football. You go to college which is fun, then you go to the NFL, make lots of money and get pampered.

In baseball, you've got to go through the grind of the minors...crappy locker rooms, buses and all that. Might as well get a head start on that.
