I don't get all the love for Alabama. They easily could have 4 losses. What's their best win? Ole Miss, MSU?
I'd be a joke if the committee used that logic. They’re Bama. They have been so dominant over the last decade that they get the benefit of being Bama. That’s all there is to it. Nobody bets against them.
It can take its time. If there are possibly one or two teams being provided an opportunity they shouldn’t have, handing out eight more participation opportunities is only going to be worse.Again, the 12 team playoff can't come soon enough. TCU might belong in the top 12 but not top 4.
Fixed. Bama would be #4.The committee can’t let a two loss Bama team into the playoff. It’d be a nightmare scenario to have Bama beat GA in the semifinal game. You’d have 12-2 Bama as champ over a 14-1 GA team that ran the SEC gauntlet to perfection.
And tcu isn’t a conference champ either. I don’t love bama, I just think tcu is mediocre. Giving Michigan a bye to title gameFixed. Bama would be #4.
So then reward Georgia with TCU at #4 and tOSU at #3. Michigan shouldn't get a bye playing TCU in the semis. It can take its time. If there are possibly one or two teams being provided an opportunity they shouldn’t have, handing out eight more participation opportunities is only going to be worse.
My scenario had Bama winning it all. Yes, they’d likely meet in the semis based on ranking, but the nightmare scenario holds. Bama got two do overs and GA gets none. It’s awful form for a committee tasked with crowning a clear champion.Fixed. Bama would be #4.
I'd be a joke if the committee used that logic.
I don't understand why so many are opposed to TCU in the playoff. If a school with a name like Oklahoma or Texas won that conference, I don't think people would have much of a problem with them getting in.Again, the 12 team playoff can't come soon enough. TCU might belong in the top 12 but not top 4.
Why no love for pitt? They have a solid 8-4 record with wins over Western Michigan, Rhode Island, Vo Tech, Virginia, etc. Why not the pitters?I don't get all the love for Alabama. They easily could have 4 losses. What's their best win? Ole Miss, MSU?
I have no idea what Fox was thinking to allow Saban on their network pitching for Alabama over Ohio State. Fox is the B10 network, especially as we move into next year. Fox has nothing to do with the SEC which is involved in a love triangle with sEcSPN and CBS.Fox sports should not have allowed Saban to make his pitch at half time. Saban’s pleading basically made the case for Penn State.
-Bama won they’re last 3 (one being an FCS school) PSU won their last 4.
-Young was injured. PSU had a revolving door of lineman other than Skruggs the last month and lost the top WR and CB.
-Bama lost to two teams in the top ten. PSU did the same and both are probably after today, in the CFP.
-Bama is the 4th best team in their conference. PSU is the 3rd best in theirs.
They didn't win their conference. They lost to a 9-3 team that won the conference.I don't understand why so many are opposed to TCU in the playoff. If a school with a name like Oklahoma or Texas won that conference, I don't think people would have much of a problem with them getting in.
I don’t disagree but think it is obvious what was done.So then reward Georgia with TCU at #4 and tOSU at #3…
Of course. Fewest losses has consistently been the main first criteria for CFP selection. If TCU gets in over Alabama, it confirms no 1 loss team in a power conference will lose out to a 2 loss team. It is not like TCU won their conference either
They lost in overtime on 2 consecutive bad calls. That gives them 1 loss. But using your logic, who would be ahead of them? Two-loss Alabama, who lost to a 4-loss LSU team that didn't win the conference? Two-loss Tennessee, who lost to a 4-loss South Carolina team that didn't win their conference? Two-loss Penn State? Two-loss USC? They lost 1 game, if you don't think they deserve to get in, then who should? They didn't win their conference. They lost to a 9-3 team that won the conference.
I just want the 12 team playoff ASAP. That's all. We'll get to see how good K State is against half of Bama's starters.
