Traveling and on my iPad so it’s too much hassle to report on all of Ruth’s insane stats from 1921, but: he also had 44 doubles (second in the AL), 16 triples! (2 off the AL lead)
The defensive players probably had a hard time seeing the ball with all of their cigarette smoke and ash getting in their eyes. 😉😂

Ruth's season is excluded ... dude wasn't even playing against the best athletes in his sport.

Hockey and soccer suck and no one cares about them, so those seasons are excluded too.

Wilt set all-time highs (other than some of his own season averages) in 2 major statistical categories, and no one else has ever come close to either ...

50.4 PPG ... the next closest EVER (other than Wilt himself) is Jordan in 86/87 at 37.1. More than 13 points higher than the next highest season!

25.7 RPG ... Wilt himself beat this number twice, and Russell once went for 24.7 in a season ... and there was a proliferation of players averaging a large number of rebounds per game back in his day, but in "modern" times, the next closest is Rodman at 18.3 in 91/92.

That's my vote.

If there aren't photos of these athletes in very little clothing with huge fake ta-tas, I'm not voting.
To each his own; here you go

I'd add anything that is athletic, but based on a subjective score/rating (gymnastics, snowboarding, etc.) is also not a 'sport'. But, what about something like downhill skiing? It's very athletic, but you are essentially racing a clock, not another person.
Extremely athletic, but not a sport to me.

@91Joe95 's Sig Pic rules in that thread.
Any game that a 6 year old and an 80 year old can play competently is not a sport.
Any game you can play with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other is not a sport.
Any game in which another person carries your gear while you ride is not a sport.
Golf is a game, like horseshoes, shuffleboard and checkers.

So ... wait ... according to your esoteric definition, if someone can impede your progress in a competition, is that a sport .. or not a sport?
Yes, that’s the difference in my mind. Just a personal definition, mind you.

Impede, or physically impede? In events where there are rounds of competition, one person's score/time could keep you from progressing. They don't physically impede you, but their better time/score does (skiing, swimming, etc.).

In 1959 Elroy Face posted an 18–1 record, including 17 victories in a row to begin the year after ending 1958 with five in a row; he did not surrender a run in the entire month from June 11 to July 12.

Fidel Castro batted a lifetime 1.000 in Cuban baseball, which tells you everything you need to know about Cuban baseball (and Cuba).

Didn’t Kim Jong-Il once shoot something like a 45 with 5 holes in one in a round of golf?

Babe Ruth with Wilt a close second. This doesn’t take into affect the women that Wilt may have bedded during that year.
