So you truly believe that had South Carolina been blown out by LSU and Alabama they would be playing the 7:30 ABC game this Saturday?
I do. A&M is what ABC is showcasing and South Carolina is a conference game, those are all the ingredients ABC needs to make the game its prime time matchup. If A&M were playing Auburn I think that game would be the prime time matchup. Like I said, if we were playing Vandy, or Auburn for that matter, I think our game would be a noon kickoff.

Well, I disagree. I do not think this game would be on ABC at 7:30 if USC would have been blown out by Bama and LSU.

Sure, does not change the fact both those games were great viewership games thanks a lot to has close the games were played. Had they been blowouts by the other teams, USC would not be playing in the 7:30 ABC slot. It is not only A&M's performance that secured the time slot.
It's almost ENTIRELY on the basis of their performance that this game got prime time exposure. ABC needed a top 10 team to showcase. Our only contribution is having won more than we've lost. Margins wouldn't have mattered.

Yes. All we needed to be is a warm body with a winning record. That's how slim this week's pickings are. The offerings are pathetic.

I love you, Brother, so we'll just cancel each other's vote on this one. I don't see where they had much to choose from. If LSU had taken care of business the other night, it would have flipped the whole thing.

I believe it would have been Ole Miss and Arkansas had USC been blown out by LSU and Bama. And that choice would have been made a week earlier.

Texas A&M at South Carolina was chosen for the night game slot back in June. This game was always going to air at night on ABC, ESPN, or SEC Network.

Ole Miss/Arkansas was chosen for the early window of games back in June, as was Vanderbilt at Auburn.

Georgia/Florida was chosen for the 3:30 ABC window back in June.

Tennessee and Kentucky was chosen for another night slot back in June, so the two options ABC, ESPN, and SEC Network had for night games was between us and UT/UK.

Obviously first place A&M at South Carolina is a more interesting national matchup than Tennessee vs Kentucky.

I guess the only variable is which network the game is aired on.

Thank you! I don't understand how this is a conversation every week like it's a big surprise of when we're playing. All of these game slots were announced back then with the exception of Clemson.

I can see now why they would have been able to project back in the summer how this week could be a pre-Thanksgiving turkey.
