Well, we lost by 43 to UT 7 weeks ago and lost by 40 tonight. I guess this is the progress everyone’s been talking about? 🤦‍♂️

UT is a very physical team. We are not. And, their players are more skilled than ours. Makes it tough for us right now. Hope Lamont can change things. We have to play at Miss. st. on Tuesday. That will be a big challenge too. Short turnaround and MSU is physical as well.

I feel like you either have a coach who emphasizes physical play or you don’t. I don’t get very physical vibes from LP.

We are 10-19 and you can see improvements from several players. Here’s the problem. How much better do they have to get to actually beat the competition? Meechie is the only player I consistently see that can be good enough to beat other good teams. Gray is getting there bc of his size.

Obviously, no positive carry over from the Bama effort that I could see.
As inconsistent (and Jekyll & Hyde) as we’ve been, I kind of expected this result after the decent showing against Bama. It is what it is, and at this point in the season, we are what we are. Here’s hoping CLP can recruit his way to some success in the coming years.

Lost 3 games in overtime. Lost to Arky by 2 points. Wouldn't take a lot of improvement to change those outcomes. But we do need some additional players with basketball skills.

I guess we don’t match up too well vs Tennersee’??
Anytime I hear someone use the old "we don't match up well" phrase, I know an asswhipping is looming. What that phrase really means is, the other team is a lot better. People use that phrase to make themselves look like they know how to break a game down.

If Mike Tyson and I got in the ring, he'd kill me. It has nothing to do with matchups either.

We also beat Clemson on a final shot. I hear you, but I think we need to see better late game play and coaching from LP. Otherwise you just always lose close games.

Well. Tn. has had a lot of time to recruit and put together a top 10 program with a proven coach. Tn. has also had a better bb program then we have had with a better tradition to sell. They got our number that's for sure and we obviously don't match up with their personnel for whatever reason. Ours is a team thrown together too late to have much of a chance to win in the SEC. I'm surprised they have won 3 games they have won and the fact they took the no. 2 team to ot. If you were expecting much out of this group you are not realistic. Constant complaining is not going to do any good, imo. But go ahead and blast them constantly. This is a discussion board and your views are just as welcome as are mine.

It’s just that the Tennessee game should have provided an excellent barometer to show what kind of progress we have made. Some on this forum, I’m not sure if you or not, have been promoting how much progress we have made over the last few weeks. Tennessee provided a like for like comparison, since they totally waxed us seven weeks ago. One would think if we had made legitimate progress, then it would’ve shown itself to some degree in the Tennessee game. I did not see anything.

Right now we do not match up well with a lot of teams. We do not have all the horses in the stable.

"We don't match up well" is a fancy way of saying "the other team is better"

I took a professional training course at my current job and one of my colleagues kept raising her hand and saying "I don't fully appreciate...." which was just a fancy way of saying "I don't understand".

This "don't match up well" lingo ain't foolin' me.
