pros/cons of Carter at DE

this seems to have become a debate almost at a level that would rival political debates. what do you think are the pros or cons of him moving back to LB or remaining at DE? does the current injury situation change how you look at the situation?

I get the impression that edge was his idea. More NFL $$$$. Make me DE or I'm a free agent (portal)?
From a distance, that's how it looked to me. This definitely wasn't a coaching decision. Welcome to the new era of college football.

that is what I thought the narrative was on this move. is it possible that a move like this could backfire for the player? by actually making the move there might be risk that the actual results don't turn out where he thought. Parsons did not actually make a move like this but in the draft process got projected to the combo edge/LB role and worked okay for him.

I don't think it will backfire. The draft seems to be about how physical freaks perform at the combine etc., more so than tape. He'll have several teams seeing him as a nice fit in their D schemes.
