I saw a couple of State fans wearing suits and maroon bowties in the Junction the other day.

Knock that **** off.

That is all.

And other people just like to look nice on game day. It's the South, it happens every where.

I wear a suit to work everyday. I usually wear a bowtie at least once per week. Maybe twice.

I think I'm going to wear a bowtie to every game for the rest of the year just to piss you numbskulls off. What somebody else wears has nothing to do with you. Wear your t-shirt and camouflage and be happy. I don't tell you to stop wearing that crap.

and seersucker suits. Otherwise you look like a goofy-*** weatherman or someone trying to sell you aluminum siding. Even tuxes look better with a long black tie though.

Also, can anybody point me in the direction of some maron slacks? I've done some googling, and there is an abundance of maron sweatpants out there. While I can see the comfort benefits of elastic banded, soft fleece pants at a tailgate, it's just not my cup of craft brew. And if you'd really like to make Sesh a happy man, point me in the direction of some maron and whit seersucker.

You may need to refine your search to 'sansabelt maroon pants'. Pretty sure Ive seen alot of those on the west side of Davis Wade so I am sure they are available.***

Not that I would wear that to a game, but I don't mind it. Like someone said, that's just football in the south. What needs to stop is the camo hats and jackets when it's cold. I am not sure if everyone realizes this, but camoflauge is for hunting. When I gohunting, I wear camo. When I'm done hunting, the camo comes off. Your camo does not help you blend into the stands and it is not maroon. Thank you.

I'd rather wear a bowtie to a game than camo. Better to be overdressed than under...<div>PLUS, the proper color would be worn with a bowtie. Camo is not one of our colors.</div>

When he asked the students at one of his "Chalk Talk" sessions why the hell they dressed like Mississippi fans for games. It got quoted in the Rejector and the next game people showing up looking like they had just come from the junior high prom was virtually non-existant.

Which would you rather see? Neither is not an option.

Was tailgaiting at a point between the frats and the stadium, so I did get a happy eyeful of talent. However, there were a few males who made me hang my head in shame.

Just to be clear, I don't think we should be telling each other what to or not to wear, that's for ole miss to worry about.

However, I'd say this counts as quite the exception. Literally back to back I saw:
a) maroon bowtie, maroon slacks, giant alien sunglasses on a floppy haired fratboy.
b) maroon bowtie, maroon slacks, and maroon suspenders on a really fat fratboy

The first thought that came to mind was "what are those ole miss fans doing here?" That should never be the case. Please leave all bowties up in Oxford.

As it's been said before, those sporting the bowtie are surely pledges as no self-respecting college kid is going to wear more than a blazer (if that) and collared shirt to a game. Actives don't want to be mistaken for pledges!***

I like wearing Jersey's to sports games but since I haven't been to an MSU game in a decade I was wondering if an MSU Jersey #17 is acceptable for the Jersey hating masses?

I would wear a bowtie for some other function, but wearing one to a football game is a bit too... UMish to me. Is that how you want to be? Then go up there where it is accepted.

Under these rules, Johnny Cash would have worn a bowtie.

I served my time in the military so my kids could wear bowties to football games

Will those who exercise their rights to wear them need to pack heat to preserve their rights?

My father stood his ground at the battle of the bulge and he wears a bowtie. Never had a chance to go to the school (MSU) all 4 of his children attended.

Just because dip wads from OM wear them does not make them bad.

Peace to you, from an old fart son of an even older fart hero who wears a bow tie.</p>

this rapidly became the gayest thread ever. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Everyone in the South does it, especially greeks. There's a difference between people dressing in coats and ties for games (NORMAL IN THE SOUTH) and hanging up chandeliers in a tailgate (17ING GAY). I personally like wearing bow ties, it's unique and in my opinion it's unique to southern culture. If you want to go slapdicking around in your Maroon jersey then be my guest. But don't come here telling me how to dress for games.

in all seriousness if people want to wear bowties to football games who cares? Most people who do it are pledges anyways.

Please, take off the goddamned camo before coming to the game. You look like a semi-homeless vet. <div>

But I will never understand wearing a tie, bowtie, sports coat or anything like that to a football game. Makes absolutely no sense to me
