The outdoors advertising in State College for Candidate #7 could be the deciding factor in securing his place on the BOT. His signs are everywhere.
Thanks MN ,The outdoors advertising in State College for Candidate #7 could be the deciding factor in securing his place on the BOT. His signs are everywhere.
Thanks MN ,
Found mine in the spam
I haven't received mine yet but that's alright. I won't be voting anyway. I don't know who #7 is but someone should tell him the vast, vast majority of alumni don't live around State College. IIRC, another candidate (maybe the same person) recently did a lot of billboard campaigning around State College but still lost.

Cradle to grave with the charitable remainder trust as the cherry on top. They don't send me ballots anymore but I still get the letters begging for money. Go figure!
Same.
Don’t knock it until you’ve fried it.

Honestly, does it really matter? They have no real power with only 3 votes and can't cause any real change. For a while I thought it might matter but it doesn't seem to.Need help here for info I should already know. What is the consensus on the 3 best candidates? Are there 3 best candidates?

THE ABOVE.BARRY. diving across a table to beat the crap out of the hates of dumbly or similar would be great theater, though. I think the bot meetings need some spice.
Some spice with some heavy gerbilling to get Dambly's attention.BARRY. diving across a table to beat the crap out of the hates of dumbly or similar would be great theater, though. I think the bot meetings need some spice.
That'll be his warm-up for taking on 21guns in the Champs parking lot.BARRY. diving across a table to beat the crap out of the hates of dumbly or similar would be great theater, though. I think the bot meetings need some spice.

Barb Doran voted to approve Barron's consulting gig. That alone should get her removed from the board. In her defense Jubelirer, McCombie, and Tribek also voted yes.I'd encourage support for 3 of the following 4...

Might be interesting to see the "Penn State Forward" slate get elected and then get cornholed by the powers that be.. No downside as none of the alumni-elected trustee since 2012 have done squat.'Penn State Forward' Board Of Trustees Campaign Aims To Lend Voice To Younger Penn Staters
Three Penn State alumni have banded together to form "Penn State Forward," a campaign aiming to elect diverse, driven, and young professionals to the Board of Trustees.onwardstate.com

Did he improve on keeping the sidewalk cleared by the end of winter?Voted for the Forward group. Barry should remain far way from the BOT....
I won't be voting but I did read all the candidate bios. I understand the youthful idealism of the Penn State Forward slate but their bios read like they're running for a political office instead of a university trustee position. As an aside, apparently you must have "Dr." before your name to be worthy of Penn State Forward. Anyway, their position statements are copied and pasted. I realize they're pushing the same agenda but they could at least write an original position statement which falls within the Penn State Forward platform. And I don't get the emphasis on investing in clean energy and creating jobs in Pennsylvania. None of the primary goals of the university should include those things. Leave those to the politicians even though they suck at it. Also, nowhere do they mention affordability which has been an issue for the past couple decades. Or maybe they've decided the affordability battle is a lost cause.Voted for the Forward group. Barry should remain far way from the BOT....
He did not. And this is a major reason why he didn't get my vote!Did he improve on keeping the sidewalk cleared by the end of winter?
Be interesting to watch their reaction to something as mundane as a budget. The Forward group used "Green" energy as their ruse initially to get the national recognition of a large organization backing them and candidates at other universities with the hope of forcing the Universities to divest their endownments of all businesses that work in the fossil fuel industries. A noble effort no doubt, but as it turns out their real agenda is DEI. Nothing wrong with DEI as the agenda, but the trickery they pulled using climate change and divestment to get an outside organization (The Boarding School dot org) to help finance their campaign speaks volumes. In addition, does anyone think we need another group of DEI bulldogs in the yard?
Same here. I've grown so tired of the same old BOT. Can we please, please move on.Voted for Barry only, time to try something different, and as the saying goes, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over......

Spoke to a friend about this who is in PS4 data base and in the past, regularly received emails. He says he did not receive an email from her regarding the campaign and had to recently request to be on her campaign mailing list.I've received several emails from Maribeth Schmidt promoting her candidacy. She is obviously using the PS4RS email data base since that would be the only way she would have my email address. Further, since no other candidate has been sending me emails she clearly did not share, or offer to reflect other candidates promotional materials. Although she was instrumental in building that data base, it was not to be used for her personal gain.
Seems slimy to me, but you be the judge.
