I haven't received mine yet but that's alright. I won't be voting anyway. I don't know who #7 is but someone should tell him the vast, vast majority of alumni don't live around State College. IIRC, another candidate (maybe the same person) recently did a lot of billboard campaigning around State College but still lost.

#7 is some guy named Barry J. Fenchak. Probably another bot lackey.

Honestly, does it really matter? They have no real power with only 3 votes and can't cause any real change. For a while I thought it might matter but it doesn't seem to.

BARRY. o_O diving across a table to beat the crap out of the hates of dumbly or similar would be great theater, though. I think the bot meetings need some spice.

I've received several emails from Maribeth Schmidt promoting her candidacy. She is obviously using the PS4RS email data base since that would be the only way she would have my email address. Further, since no other candidate has been sending me emails she clearly did not share, or offer to reflect other candidates promotional materials. Although she was instrumental in building that data base, it was not to be used for her personal gain.

Seems slimy to me, but you be the judge.

Might be interesting to see the "Penn State Forward" slate get elected and then get cornholed by the powers that be.. No downside as none of the alumni-elected trustee since 2012 have done squat.

Vote Barry!

Voted for the Forward group. Barry should remain far way from the BOT....
I won't be voting but I did read all the candidate bios. I understand the youthful idealism of the Penn State Forward slate but their bios read like they're running for a political office instead of a university trustee position. As an aside, apparently you must have "Dr." before your name to be worthy of Penn State Forward. Anyway, their position statements are copied and pasted. I realize they're pushing the same agenda but they could at least write an original position statement which falls within the Penn State Forward platform. And I don't get the emphasis on investing in clean energy and creating jobs in Pennsylvania. None of the primary goals of the university should include those things. Leave those to the politicians even though they suck at it. Also, nowhere do they mention affordability which has been an issue for the past couple decades. Or maybe they've decided the affordability battle is a lost cause.

The Forward group used "Green" energy as their ruse initially to get the national recognition of a large organization backing them and candidates at other universities with the hope of forcing the Universities to divest their endownments of all businesses that work in the fossil fuel industries. A noble effort no doubt, but as it turns out their real agenda is DEI. Nothing wrong with DEI as the agenda, but the trickery they pulled using climate change and divestment to get an outside organization (The Boarding School dot org) to help finance their campaign speaks volumes. In addition, does anyone think we need another group of DEI bulldogs in the yard?

Be interesting to watch their reaction to something as mundane as a budget.

Spoke to a friend about this who is in PS4 data base and in the past, regularly received emails. He says he did not receive an email from her regarding the campaign and had to recently request to be on her campaign mailing list.

Voted for Barry, Schmidt and Brown. The Forward group seem like a bunch of woke Gen Z who think JoePa is a stuffed animal. No way any of them get my vote
