Please find out what really happened with Joe's Statue and when the crumbs intend to properly honor the man.

He has been exonerated, by all but our lousy BoT.

I feel so much more confident in Penn State's leadership after reviewing the meeting agenda:

"Aligned with President Bendapudi's goal on growing interdisciplinary research excellence, provide a review and update on progress of strategic communications' support through a holistic approach to storytelling"

What a bunch of gobbledygook.

No surprise. She was a marketing professor. This is what marketing endorses as an approach to best sell a bill of goods.

What would you have liked to have seen to replace this statement?

“Storytelling”…like the “stories” that were told after 11.9/11 ?

Let me take a crack at this baby, all under the assumption that the elements in it belong in the same sentence. Holistic in this context is usually summoned because reliance on any measurable status (and change in status toward a goal) of interdisciplinary research excellence won’t impress you, so we need to obfuscate the true signal with some things that will make you think things are better than rational thought alone yields. We have a team of experts (should strategic communications be capitalized?) that are really good at distraction, and you (the Board) will be our testing ground for the effectiveness of their bull$h!t we want to unleash on the broader public.

Eliminate it. The concept of "growing interdisciplinary research excellence" is largely vacuous.
They can't resist. Another one - PSU should trademark the stem "innovat." It seems like every other initiative or name on a building references innovate, innovating, innovation, or innovative. PSU is renovating more than it's innovating.

Is there still huge supply of onion dip at these meetings?
I'd need a huge supply of Jack to get me through a meeting like that, but looks like the other members, Barry excepted of course, got to the rickhouse ahead of me.

THE Kenneth Arrow is indeed dead, Barry. Or is there another Arrow?
