See link below. From the article:
“UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Lora Weiss, senior vice president for research at Penn State, has been selected to serve as director of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s CHIPS Research and Development (R&D) Office for a two-year appointment beginning July 1, pending final clearance. During Weiss’ assignment, Andrew Read, currently director of the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences and Evan Pugh Professor of Biology and Entomology and Eberly Professor of Biotechnology, will serve as interim senior vice president for research.
The CHIPS R&D Office, established under the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, is charged with developing a robust domestic research ecosystem to advance the development of semiconductor technologies and enhance the competitiveness of the U.S. semiconductor industry.”
Not bad recognition for a school that looks like ours.
