Not sure about Deans condition but Coffey looked really big and powerful. Could have just been match up
Agree. If he don’t get that break Max Dean wins. Dean is small for 197 though. Hope he hits the weights hard the next 60 days.
Tough call at 197. Beard beat Caffey 6 to 2 this season. Beard is bigger and can score more points. Not sure if he’s going to get another shot at a wrestle off or not. Think Dean won in OT before the season. Interesting situation for the coaching staff. Beard is very good in his own right.
I would bet my house, wife, and children that, barring injury, Max Dean will be starter throughout. And let it be known that I like my house, wife, and children.
Before I lose my house, wife, and children, my caveat is that it will not surprise me at all to see Max get a rest or two down the stretch.
Dean just wrestled some really tough kids in the past week. Back to back to back ranked kids and gets another Friday night. No way the coaching staff makes a change after one loss by a point to a really tough out. No way.

I’d forgotten that Max had moved up from 184 - some think undersized, and though he’s not the point scorer perhaps we’d like him to be but I think after a tough weekend and some coaching (do these guys watch film or is this when the coaches hone in and game plan) but I’m pretty confident that Max witless be fully prepared for Caffey. Caffey is lengthy, strong and athletic and as someone has said, streaky. I feel good about the rematch. AJ is another story in my opinion. We’ll see how Max does against Warnerov

Beard definitely deserves his shot against a couple guys ranked as well. As mentioned already beat Caffey 6 to 2 who is not elite IMO. He’s a big 197 that can score a lot of points. Could have very easily been in the finals last year if he didn’t trip. Interesting situation for Cael and the staff.

Caffey is very physical. He too is mining up from 184. Just a lot of effort lately for Dean. Add to that the riding time clock break for a gassed Caffey and that is how it goes.
CC has a bit of a Funky style. Dean will be fine as we move toward Big10’s & nationals.
I don’t know what else to throw in. Every nickel I’ve got. Max Dean has been absolutely fabulous this year. Tremendous. Terrific. A machine. His loss today changes nothing.
Agree. Love Max. Just hoping Beard gets a shot at a couple ranked guys this season. AJ is a very big 197 and of course that’s always the goal as Cael says is to be National Champion. Oh well we shall see. Huge dual meet of the year coming up against Iowa. Should be great to watch. Love to crush them.
