I forget which order they were but 25 had spectacular games against OSU and USC and then we faced Georgia. God, he was great.

@Midnighter’s post in the Excited for Peach Bowl Thread made me think of Warner just now. Just saying.

Also, Curt’s first game with the Seahawks he went like sixty on his first carry, something extraordinary like that. I have never seen a replay of that play, a huge hole in my existence.

Shane Conlan worth a mention....
86 Orange Bowl, 3 TFLs and a fumble recovery.
87 Fiesta Bowl....well...'nuff said.
We had a real chance to win that Orange Bowl, it was a much closer game than the final score might indicate. My brother-in-law after the loss: “Well, that’s the last chance Penn State will have for a long time.” Ha.

The TD pass from Holieway (sp) to the TE on our backup safety was the nail in the coffin.....although our 3 INTs didn't help. But definitely agree....winnable game

DaeSean Hamilton had a good run in bowls - in fact, has more receiving TD's in bowls than any other Penn Stater.

If we are looking at individual games, not necessarily career bowl games, Reggie Givens took over the 1993 Fiesta Bowl against Tennessee. He was defensive MVP with an interception for a TD and a forced fumble. Also, can’t forget Ki-Jana’s 1994 Rose Bowl. 21 carries 156 yards 3 TDs.

Micah Parsons was a one man wrecking crew against Memphis in the Cotton Bowl also.

Christian Hackenberg 2014 Pinstripe Bowl:
34/50 371 yards 4 TDs

We’ve been lucky enough to watch some really good bowl performances by our guys over the years. There’s been so many, it’s hard to name them all.

Agree. Best RB in PSU history, could do it all. Elusive, fast, workhorse, great receiver, clutch.

Have to bring my old timer POV here.

Lydell. Mitchell had 2 Bowl games: Orange Bowl vs Missouri as a sophomore in 1969 and the Cotton Bowl vs Texas in 1971.

In the OB, Mitchell scored the winning touchdown on a rare pass reception (I think Bukhara on,y threw 1 during the regular season, in the final game).

in the Cotton, Lydell led all rushers to lead Penn State over Texas 30-6. I can’t remember how many yards he gained, but that win over the Horns ranks as one of the most impactful in establishing Penn State as a national power.

Yeah I remember going to a friend’s house to watch the game. His older brother said before the game that Penn State would get smoked because they were playing “big boys” now. First time Texas failed to score a TD since it began running the wishbone.

Replace Texas with Georgia, Tennessee, Miami....all the other "big boys" we were supposed to get smoked by.

Blair Thomas had a great game vs BYU in the Holiday Bowl, Enis vs Texas in the Fiesta pretty good as well.
Was this the game where Gary Brown “stole” the game? He is one of my favorites, played defense and offense during his career.

Hopefully he said that before Conlan and most of the rest of the 5th year seniors said they were coming back....'cause once they did you just knew 86 was going to be special.

Yes, the fool said it just as the Orange Bowl ended. We were watching the OB at his house, and we didn’t watch the Fiesta Bowl together.

Probably Mike Reid
I'm not sure how to do the "I fixed it for you" thing. But no "probably" needed.

In his only 2 Bowl games, the 69-70 Orange Bowls, Reid basically set up the winning scores.

In the 1st one, he sacked Kansas QB on consecutive downs for something like 15 yards in losses (not the exact #, I'm sure, but close). Then Neal Smith blocked the ensuing punt giving Penn State possession at around the 50.

[Ever wonder why so many of our blocked punts somehow seem to go forward rather than backward?] I digress.

Following was the Burkhart bomb to Bob Campbell to the 3 and then the end-of-game excitement of Penn State's 11-man offense against Kansas' 12-man defense.

In the 1970 OB, Reid forced a fumble by the Missouri RB that I think Jack Ham recovered (again, sorry if my memory is in error about who recovered it). Then Burkhart tossed that pass to Lydell Mitchell for the games only TD in a 10-3 victory.

I've always told my son whose favorite player is Mike Robinson that MRob is the offensive version of Mike Reid. Both guys came through when Penn State needed them the most.
