This is what I want to figure out as well. They have a plan of course. But will be interested to learn more about what it is.
Don’t apologize- stuff comes upSorry again. It was a last second thing I had to step away and handle. We will have a match story up.
wasn't the last chance open this weekend? is there another?Or if he hits an Open next weekend.
Call lock have up for a matchwasn't the last chance open this weekend? is there another?
Have to keep in mind that his opponent was unranked. Going forward, that's likely to be the exception not the rule. But I think the combination of Berge at 157 and Edsell at 165 gives PSU its best opportunity for points at those two weight classes.Berge looked very good.
Maybe he could wrestle in the “no really, this is truly your last chance” open.wasn't the last chance open this weekend? is there another?
That’s great. This is well outside my limited scope of knowledge. So is Brady better off winning B1Gs or getting 6 matches? The Nomad is wrong, that's not the only path for Brady to pick up 6 matches at B1Gs. Brady had 6 matches last year at BIGs, won the Round of 16, lost in quarters and then four more in the Consis to take 6th.
Bottom line. If Berge wrestles with a mean streak he can beat anyone at 157. He can’t be Mr. Nice guy against the better guys. He found that out against Alex M when we wrestled Iowa.Have to keep in mind that his opponent was unranked. Going forward, that's likely to be the exception not the rule. But I think that the combination of Berge at 157 and Edsell at 165 gives PSU its best opportunity for points at those two weight classes.
Winning Bigs. That’s great. This is well outside my limited scope of knowledge. So is Brady better off winning B1Gs or getting 6 matches?
AKA the Dresser Open.Maybe he could wrestle in the “no really, this is truly your last chance” open.
Just like on the mat: take the decision away from the refs. That’s great. This is well outside my limited scope of knowledge. So is Brady better off winning B1Gs or getting 6 matches?
If he wins the conference tourney, he's an Auto Qualifier. If he doesn't win it and has less than 8 matches at 57, I believe he'll need to be selected as an At Large selection to even make nationals. Jo Jo Smith had a similar situation in '19 and was seeded 33rd, despite be a 2X AA.That’s great. This is well outside my limited scope of knowledge. So is Brady better off winning B1Gs or getting 6 matches?
Wouldn't he need the 8 matches at 157 to receive an AQ spot?Win one of the B10's allocated spots, and then at-large becomes somebody else's problem.
That's not my point.Wouldn't he need the 8 matches at 157 to receive an AQ spot?
Here's the grid: https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/ch.../2021-22D1MWR_QualifierAllocationCriteria.pdf
Okay. How many spots are they taking at 157 from the Big ten tournament ? I’m sure he can finish top 2 or 3.That's not my point.
You're right that he would need 8 matches at 157 to satisfy the Win % criterion for at AQ -- but he would also need RPI (not enough matches) and a Coaches' Poll ranking (which he isn't getting at 157 today).
But my point is: he needs to just win at B10s, and steal the spot that somebody else earned for the conference.
First of all, thanks to all for the input and clarification. That's not my point.
