No jerseys or T-shirts.

You can't wear T-shirts to a game? Looks like about 60% of our crowds (including me) are in violation, then.

I don't really care if someone wears a jersey, regardless of age. I stopped wearing them years ago, and I'm only 21. But I'm not going to make fun of an adult wearing one at a ballgame, or anywhere for that matter. In fact, I probably won't even notice.

If you've got State gear on, I really don't care what it is.

are fine. I used to wear a tie when I was a student, and I still think that tradition has a little charm to it. But, what in the hell was I thinking wearing a tie?

When it is cool, I perfer a sportscoat. Maroon. White shirt.

Oh, and a beer in my hand. That's part of proper gameday attire.

and for the record, I'm in the "wear whatever the hell you want" camp. At least it's maroon and not the bazillion shades of everything else you see in the stands. As far as jersey ownership, I have a garish orange Champ Bailey jersey, but I don't wear it out in public. Obviously I got tired of too many people thinking I was him.

Bruce, for all you have done for our athletic program, you are entitled to wear whatever you(or your wife) want to, and you will still be a hero to all of us who remember those glory days.....(hope we are on verge of some more)....

but I do agree with him to some extent. I feel like if I lived in Buffalo and had season tickets to the Bills - I might be sporting a Marshawn Lynch jersey to a game. I dont think I have that much of a problem with it at State either. As with anything else, if you act like you dont give a **** and you know what the hell you are doing - its not that big of a deal. I know if I see some fat *** stressing the hell out of the seams of a Jerious Norwood jersey I can be pretty critical - but a normal dude or a hot chick can get away with it I think. Now, I havent ever worn one to a game and I dont own one - but if I did I think there would have to be a couple of rules:

(A) it has to be a real deal authentic jersey, stitching and all - no iron-on ****.
(B) I would have to be wasted by the time I stepped out of my car to go to the junction.
(C) I would probably bring an MSU helmet to protect me from the beer cans being flung at me for wearing a jersey to the game.

Footnote - I actually tried on a LaDanian Tomlinson jersey at the reebok outlet - I looked at myself in the mirror and took it off immediately...

A Bama fan was sporting a #12 jersey and his gut was down to his knees. The jersey stopped at his waistband.

wear a jersey at an OSU game. From what I have seen, 60 to 70% of people have a jersey on at the game. About half the people around campus on a Friday night before the game will be wearing a jersey as well.

Exactly, don't worry about what people think. If you like it wear it. I am planning on getting a Favre Jets jersey as soon as possible and I am gonna wear it.

After all, it'd be hypocritical for me to be against it considering that I have some older Arsenal shirts (no numbers) and a Yankees replica jersey (Don Mattingly).

I not against anyone showing school spirit regardless of what they are wearing. It boggles my mind every time I see people at games who claim to be State fans dressed in neutral colors. I much rather see those people in jerseys.

I also don't subscribe to the gotta dress up nice and wear khakis and a polo crap either. You're not going to church. You're tailgating and drinking all day, while outside in the heat, only to follow that up with 3 hours of screaming, yelling, and hopefully jumping up and down for joy. Wear whatever you're comfortable in. Most games, I'm in t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers.

Why do state fans seem to be the most colorblind fans in all of college football? I think it's sentiment like most of the posters on here who make fun of people who have school spirit. God forbid someone do the dog pound rock or anything "abnormal" like wear a maroon colored jersey to support their team.

was that he isn't going to buy another tent when he has a tent that works just fine that happens to be blue. What's the worst that can happen, people flying over think we aren't color coordinated? You guys pop up your blue tents and don your jerseys. It's a football game, not a damn beauty contest. I feel like I've been sucked into BRAVO hell.

I dont want to appear more wrapped up in this than I actually am, but all I am saying is there should be uniformity amongst a fanbase at sporting events. I think that includes tents, tailgate decorations and wearing your school colors to the game. I guess it is just me, but I have never contemplated wearing something other than maroon or white to a game. That is where college football gets all its mystique and tradition. Just an opinion - doesnt mean we are turning the university into a fashion contest.

And as far as plane flyovers go, we had plenty of shots from up above to start the entire college football season on ESPN last year. Just sayin.

you have to stop wearing jerseys to athletic events (unless, of course, you are participating in the event). If your determined to be comfortable and refuse to wear a polo, rock a MSU t-shirt.

Just remember, the next step after wearing a jersey is having the school logo stickers on your cheeks. It's a slippery slope, my friend.

...and this may be the gay side of sports, nobody likes to cheer for a team in ugly uniforms. It's some kind of weird pride thing. Hard to explain. All I know is that you didn't look out there and cringe at the MSU uniforms of the 90's. Now, not so much.

I just disagree about the tent......only because I own a blue tent (although I've never used it on gameday but may in the future). Wearing different colors IS annoying, but from many posting about no jerseys or t-shirts, I'd say, as long as everyone is representing their school and having a damn good time, to each his own. Who cares what they wear. Also, there will always be photos of the worst fans posted across the net. See MSU snaggle tooth and his friend Gomer that keeps coming up on other boards. If you see me in a sports coat and a tie, it's only because porkchop hired me on as his butler during the games.

Personally, I wouldn't wear one. I can say one thing though, it looks a lot better at the game than the camo, pink, brown, orange and what ever else is worn. At least it's team colors.

Feel free to wear your gay *** jersey to the game. I wont talk to you though. Gameday attire is either a maroon or white polo shirt. Also a maroon or white button up shirt. We are in the SEC so fcuking act like it.

I will also accept blazers and ties for fraternity pledges.

Sorry man you asked for the sixpack opinion and we gave it to you.

I haven't worn one since high school but it's a damn football game. As long as it's maroon (shade optional) or white what does it matter. Gets on my nerves more watching a bunch of pansies in sport coats and khakis acting like they're at a social club. I remember Jackie Wayne going off about students not wearing maroon and white to the games, said he didn't want to see any sport coats at the games.

It's SEC football, would it kill you to wear a collared shirt of some sort? If you're gonna wear a jersey, you might as well paint one on your chest with the rest of those pillow biters.

give it to a son, or favorite nephew, or possibly a homeless person.

If you do wear it to a game, take another shirt, just in case you go somewhere else.

It's all about fun and supporting your team...the fact that you're rooting for grown men to win a game should be bad enough if you're taking things this seriously. I don't wear a jersey to State games but I will not be at a Saints game without my Colston jersey. And Dawgstudent is correct...I'm from PA and Penn State people wear their jerseys all the time. No problem with it.

..when I mentioned that anyone who wore a football jersey game was *****, I was just about killed. In the NFL, most fans will wear the jersey of their favorite player to the game.

Oh well, better buy a Jason Witten #82 jersey.

Your dead on Brasky, leave the jerseys to the Big Ten and wear a polo or button up and some khakis. I find it amusing that State fans always get pissed when people from other schools refer to us as rednecks, but half of our fans are in the junction in camo hats, cargo shorts, and State t-shirts. Dressing up won't kill you.

as for a game, no.
