Well damn. Parliament of Whores, Holidays in Hell and Eat the Rich were really good. Definately not the prudish type of Republican. Dude enjoyed life, wrote really good satire but also first-rate political essays. Maybe Matt Taibbi today but can't think of anyone as good as he was.

All of them are classics. I also loved Republican Party Reptile— which was a collection of essays.

This quote of his from your linked article is spot on.

O'Rourke was a known drinker, and he was widely quoted as saying: "No drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we’re looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn’t test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity."
