I read some of his stuff in 90s/early 2000s and always found him to have a fun, subversive sense of humor. RIP.

Well damn. Parliament of Whores, Holidays in Hell and Eat the Rich were really good. Definately not the prudish type of Republican. Dude enjoyed life, wrote really good satire but also first-rate political essays. Maybe Matt Taibbi today but can't think of anyone as good as he was.
