I'm not getting how he went over his employer's head. Has he signed Raffo to a contract without the AD's knowledge?

So recommending someone to replace you when you retire is going over someone's head?

for most people. Not sure why you are having such a hard time grasping it.

Greg Byrne is the only person who should be PUBLICLY deciding who the candidates are to replace Polk. Polk should not publicly endorse anyone to take his position - it's not his place to do it and it puts our athletic director (whose job it ACTUALLY is to replace Polk) in a very awkward position in a public light. If Byrne doesn't hire Raffo, the impression will be given, fair or not, that he thumbed his nose at Raffo and Polk. If Polk wants Raffo to succeed him, he has every right to suggest that privately to Byrne, and I'm sure Byrne would have considered Raffo anyway, regardless of what the little troll said in a public statement. He's handcuffing his boss and painting him into a corner to salve his own massive ego.

in the SEC. I've had enough of both of em. Raffo does'nt deserve to be a HC in the SEC. He helped Polk get us in the damn mess we are in. I really don't think Raffo could coach a damn T-ball team.Ron can just take TR with him wherever the hell he goes.

Maybe 4:30 on a day in mid June, 2008 someone will name Raffo as our head coach but it obviously didn't happen yesterday.
