RBY at Poland Open, Sun 6/22

Only 2 other 57 kg wrestlers went to Poland: Mohamed (Egypt) and Fafe (Guinea-Bissau). Both are 2024 Olympic qualifiers, though not nearly on the level of a Gilman or Lee. RBY beat both handily and won the Open.
RBY pinned Mohamed in the 2nd period. Twitter says it was a tech, because the score was 10-1 with exposure coming at the time, but the ref slapped the mat. Found a bottom leg cradle while finishing a single.
Then he teched Fafe 13-2, gave up the opening takedown and then poured it on. 4 takedowns, 2 exposures, and a step-out.
He looked good, albeit against lesser competition. Lost no quickness with the cut to 57 kg. Has clearly trained to work leg laces, and that should be an effective weapon for him with his foot quickness.

I really do not want to see RBY v Spencer. Hoping they are on opposite sides of the bracket.
Basch should have watched fhe Poland Open matches. He'd at least know the scores.
Glad RBY is back at the NLWC. Think he stays for awhile. Should help us with getting Marcus Blaze.
