Don’t look now, but the ACC looks legit. 2 playoff contenders in ND and FSU. Miami threatening A&M. Duke looks decent. All of a sudden that conference seems really good. While SEC teams are struggling with inferior teams.
They are for football.Notre Dame isn’t in the ACC
Nope. They are famously independent in football. They are for football.
They are for football.
They also get to vote like any other ACC team does.
Ah, that’s right. All sports except football. My bad. They were in the ACC just for the covid year of football. It was a one time deal.
Legitimate observations. Also, it isn't the first time they could have been made. Snapshots at various times in history, especially after Rivalry Saturday, could have evinced the same conclusions. I'd throw out Notre Dame. Disregard them until they are all-in. They don't even play a full conference slate.Don’t look now, but the ACC looks legit. 2 playoff contenders in ND and FSU. That’s the best part….not like Miami looked good. A&M is still a mess.Miami did not look that great - A&M has some talent but is not well coached.
Jimbo is such a con man (and a Dire Straits fan) - "Money for Nothing''!
I don't see how that Fisher boy can keep his job. I must say, I expected much better things from him. Maybe he had already peaked after the national championship at FSU. Maybe that messy family situation changed something in him. Whatever the cause, he should have been able to produce better results with the resources he has been vouchsafed at A&M.That’s the best part….not like Miami looked good. A&M is still a mess.
He still has a job because of a monstrous buyout agreed to because they stupidly thought he was a keeper.I don't see how that Fisher boy can keep his job. Two (2) A&M boosters bought out Kevin Sumlin's contract - a measly $ 5.2 million each - $10.4 million total. The list of people to call had 30 names on it. The two who paid were the first two called. Money ain't gonna stop them from doing what they need to do, especially with Texas rising and looming. He still has a job because of a monstrous buyout agreed to because they stupidly thought he was a keeper.
And if I were jimbo I would ride off into the sunset with my money, hookers and blow like ed orgeron did. I would have myself a grand ol time. Two (2) A&M boosters bought out Kevin Sumlin's contract - a measly $ 5.2 million each - $10.4 million total. The list of people to call had 30 names on it. No, they are not. They are for football.

I know...I got it backwards. Acknowledged in a previous post. They are not in the ACC for football. They are for everything but hockey and football
Are you saying we missed our window to be king of the SEC? lolSEC definitely seems to have lost a step this year.
Not sure we have a team in the SEC who would beat FSU or ND.
haha, just missed that window again. Are you saying we missed our window to be king of the SEC? lol
Beamer needs to make a trip to the drive thru and order one up - super sized.haha, just missed that window again.
Seriously, though, Nobody has looked super impressive so far. UT looked ok against UVA early before eventually putting it away and did not look very good at all against Austin Peay. UGA's offense has started very slow against very weak competition. Alabama did dispatch MTSU with relative ease, but they just didn't look like Bama on Saturday.
With how Rattler is playing early, if we had an OL and run game, I would not say the UT or UGA games would be insurmountable. So that's all we need...an OL and a run game...lol
Cmon man, If we put up 48 pts, and Rattler threw for 5 TD's , 374 yds, 0 ints (like Van Dyke did), this board would lose its collective mind, regardless if Jimbo is coaching TAMU or not.Miami did not look that great - A&M has some talent but is not well coached.

Rattler is ranked #8 nationally and is #1 in SEC completion % at 83.3 with 55/66 passes completed and 0 INT's.Cmon man, If we put up 48 pts, and Rattler threw for 5 TD's , 374 yds, 0 ints (like Van Dyke did), this board would lose its collective mind, regardless if Jimbo is coaching TAMU or not.
You're making a leap on previous statements. I did not infer/suggest/hint that Miami was currently a top tier team, I was responding to your statement that "Miami did not look great". In that particular game Miami did look impressive, and that is not my lone opinon (given the write ups I have read). I give Miami their due for a well played game.Rattler is ranked #8 nationally and is #1 in SEC completion % at 83.3 with 55/66 passes completed and 0 INT's.
Van Dyke is #23 with a 73.1 completion % and 38/52 passes completed and 1 INT.
But that doesn't make either of us a top tier team.
"And the chicks for free!"Miami did not look that great - A&M has some talent but is not well coached.

Georgia and/or Tennessee.SEC definitely seems to have lost a step this year.

Your impressions about Miami mirror mine. Beating A&M is not an indication that Miami is top tier. A&M is woeful to supposedly be so talented. My contempt for them is off the charts.Hey, I was thrilled with what we did to Furman!
But I still do not think Miami is back as a top tier team based on what I saw. They are definitely better.
We'll see soon enough.
Georgia and/or Tennessee.
Isn't our best receiver from James Madison? Juice?ACC is 4-1 against the SEC this year. The lone SEC win was UT over UVA. UVA just lost to James Madison, so that's not really one to brag about.
Fisher is a super overrated coach. He rode famous Jameis to a championship and huge contract. He's never done anything without that generational QB.I don't see how that Fisher boy can keep his job. I must say, I expected much better things from him. Maybe he had already peaked after the national championship at FSU. Maybe that messy family situation changed something in him. You have 2 billionaire boosters at SMU making up about 270 million dollars over 9 yrs in TV revenue SMU had to give up to join the ACC.70-80 mil to pay off Jimbo is "walking around" money for those guys. Two (2) A&M boosters bought out Kevin Sumlin's contract - a measly $ 5.2 million each - $10.4 million total. Our best receiver came to USC from Mullins HS.Isn't our best receiver from James Madison? Juice?
It's early.Possibly. UGA has not looked elite so far against Mercer or Ball State (though, as I've stated before, I think they're kind of sleepwalking and will be full awake this weekend). UT's offense took a while to get going against a very, very bad UVA team and looked very average against FCS Austin Peay. Just going on the body of work from this season, the smart money would be on FSU or ND in those games.
