Yeah. When you start with 3-4 wins in your back pocket, getting 6 wins is totally meaningless.
Carolina has LSU, Ole Miss, and at Alabama, and at Ole Miss in the first 7. Do you really expect to win these games? If you do, let me know beforehand so I can look for you on TV. You'll be the guy with his hands underneath his chin.

Who said I expect to win those games?

Correction at Oklahoma in the first 7. But they also have #11 Missouri, # 14 Clemson, and # 20 Texas A & M. We would have to win one of those 7 games to make a bowl.

I'm still not sure what you're getting at. I never said anything us beating the teams you mentioned.

But Jacque, Treyno says, "I just want 6 wins every year and a cheesy bowl at best". I don't interpret that as "improvement". I interpret that as "settling". Maybe he needs to clarify his thought.
Not settling, being realistic. How many games do you see this team winning. I saw this team almost get beat by Jacksonville State. That was with a NFL Quarterback.

What I'm getting at is this, the SEC just added two teams in Texas and Oklahoma which moves Carolina down two more spots in the SEC. Carolina will always be middle of the road/ bottom third in the conference. It had three years of solid success under Spurrier. Break out the old highlights from that era and enjoy them. That's all we've got. Please prove me wrong.

I am referring to your previous post about, asking if I expected to beat LSU, Ole Miss and Bama. I never said or suggested we would.

I understand. Beamer is still a question mark to me. I'm thinking down the road if we have a quality Head Coach. Is that Shane Beamer? We will find out this season, imho. If Beamer cannot produce some upsets this season, that will tell me a lot about him.

We should be underdogs to LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Missouri, Texas A&M and Clemson. Kentucky right now is a toss up, to me. We should be favorites against the rest. How will we do against the teams we are underdogs to, here in Beamer's 4th season? That will tell me whether we have the right man to be our Head Coach.

I believe a quality Head Coach can produce a consistent Top 20 program. I just don't know that's Beamer. I really, really understand your skepticism about this year; just not the future if we have a quality Head Coach.

Pretty accurate. We will be favored in 4 games. I can see UK as a tossup, but we will be underdogs for sure going into the game, especially since it's at UK. That means we'll be underdogs in 8 games. Steep hill? Yeah. But it's of our own doing.

I'm going to add one more unexpected win for a total of 6. Not sure which one or I would possibly place a wager on it.

Yeah, it's easy to pick UK as our most likely 5th win. Getting 6 means we'll have to beat a pretty good team: LSU, Ole Miss, MIzzou, Bama, OU, A&M, Clemson? Maybe A&M isn't in the "pretty good" category, as they are breaking in a new coach. I guess they'd be the most likely pick for #6, except we've only squeaked 1 win against them since they joined the league and this game is in College Station.

Don't get me wrong, I think Shane Beamer was and is a great hire. He loves this school but the fact is, everyone wants to win and win now. I mean, Dawn wasn't winning titles right away. I hope Shane stays here for a long time. The expectations in the SEC are insane.

Yeah you and I think alike 18. I thought about putting us down as underdogs to Kentucky. I didn't because it was not as clear to me as the other 7. But I agree with you that we will probably be underdogs to them at their place.

As I said, I am really looking forward to this season because it should tell us what we have in Beamer. Four seasons is long enough to get a read on a Head Coach. Does that mean a Top 10 team in his 4th season like Kiffen and Drinkwitz produced at Ole Miss and Missouri respectively in their 4th seasons last year? No. It means beat the teams we are supposed to beat and produce some upsets. We know his recruiting is not blowing anyone away. Compared to other SEC teams, we are doing poorly. So, he has to show strength on game day. Time will shortly tell.

ESPN ranks our schedule as the 17th most difficult in the nation. But, get this: they rank our schedule as the 11th most difficult in the 16-team SEC conference. What's my point? Some are are saying that Beamer and SC need to be given a break regarding expectations because of our "brutal" schedule. We usually will have a brutal schedule in this conference. Beamer has to find a way to win. Yes, that's pressure. But, he is set to be paid $6.375 million this year. He will be getting paid "OK" for that pressure.

Been watching the Olympics these past two weeks. Love the Nike commercial that says "Winning is not for everyone". It seems to be that way for Carolina football.

I know that Beamer "wanted to be here". For that kind of money ($6 million/year), he would have been a fool not to. I know he started off at around $2.5 million/year. Still, he would have been a fool not to want to be here. That's not bad for a 40 something year-old. He parlayed the 2022 wins over Tennessee and Clemson to nearly triple his salary. He MUST produce and do that THIS season. The "schedule" is no excuse, as far as I'm concerned. The schedule will always be tough. I'm not saying he needs to produce a Top 10 team like Kiffin and Drinkwitz did in their 4th seasons. But, as a fan, I would be demanding and not let him get by because of the schedule. But, that's me. Maybe I would be too tough to work for. I don't know.

The simple fact is if we get 6 wins this year, it's only b/c we swapped out a P5 game (UNC) for a lower-level opponent. Last year we had wins over Furman, Jacksonville State, Vandy, UK and MSU. If we get 6 wins this year, it will come with wins over ODU, Akron, Wofford, Vandy and 2 other games. Arguably, 6 wins would even be regression from last year as this year's non-conference slate is easier than last year's. Jacksonville State and Furman are better teams than ODU, Akron or Wofford.
Reality is you nor anyone knows how this season is going to go or how good or bad this team will be this year.
Just don’t see the need for constant negativity before the season begins but yall feel the need so go with it I guess
