I know thats what its going to look like, and it will be fine.
But geez, would it killed us to use a different design than the palmeiro blueprints?
I would of much more preferred (yes i know it would cost more too), something more along the lines of UT or duke
A little more than a rectangle box with 2 courts on each end. Especially if its going to be next to the hump as has been stated now instead of across the streeet..would of been nice to incorporate it into the side of the hump or something.
as long as we can pull recruits in there and tell them that they have 24/7 access to get better then it doesn't matter to me what it "looks" like. the only look i want to see is more banners in the hump.
And, furthermore, I can think of no better place for the banner M than the attic floor. In fact, it would suit me just fine if we relegated the banner M exclusively to attic floors.
or at least the one they showed on CBS during our game with them. It had an open weight room on one end with a couple of courts in front it, looked first class.
As long as it is functional and has all the bells and whistles, the exterior doesn't really matter. However, aesthetically speaking, it's a metal building with an entrance tacked on. I wish we had the budget to dress it out, but oh well.
a sorority house tacked on. Dear lord, when are architects going to realize slapping a portico on the front of a giant building doesn't make it look like a plantation house (see the Desoto County Convention Center).
I just hope this "why is there no roof...and...plus the ole miss facility has a roof " was sarcasm intended.
Because don't you geniuses realize the reason the roof is not shown in this particular view is....so we can get a damn look at what the damn interior will look like. If the <17>ing roof were shown in this view then all you would see would be a big *** rectangle which would block the view to the interior.
I've talked to several people who are in the know and they've said that we are not going to put a roof on it. I think its dumb as hell but it is what it is.
The reasons given are a. cheaper to do it without one and the company we usually get our green roofs from is out of business b. Stans loves the movie White Men Can't Jump and wants our team to learn to judge the wind when shooting.
in the athletic department, and they tell me this is the "green" version. no roof means no electricity and climate control costs. the courts will have a state of the art drainage and filtration system that will store rain water in a holding tank to be used to water the daffodils later on.
why is there 20 feet between the court and the bleachers on each side? that's a good 8000 square feet of floor space wasted, not even counting the excessive bleachers.
