Will only make it easier to clean house next season. (Lebby/Salmon/staff/waterboy) Replacing a lame DC is a bandaid for systemic football problems
Just what we need….”Come to Mississippi State where you have 1 maybe 2 seasons to turn around a complete dumpster fire.” That’ll sure attract top talent.

Oh! and we can spend all our NIL money on former coaches salaries.

I don’t know if Lebby is the guy but you don’t fix this problem by changing head coaches every year. Get some stability in the program then make the decisions.

If they get a competent DC, I can be interested to see next year. If they keep Hutz, I’ll not be tuning in much until something on the field changes for the better. I can’t imagine building any off season excitement among fans or recruits with him returning.

If they don’t make staff changes they’re going to see zero fan support except the diehards. Maybe the worst we have ever seen.

Well they ain't making staff changes. Period. The real question is can they even upgrade the talent ? And all yall wanting to fire coaches and get led lighting are gonna be disappointed

Understand and agree with this in theory, but you have to understand the frustration so many fans feel when it comes to Salmon and Lenny. Many feel that neither of them were good choices from the beginning. It just turns you off to the whole deal. I personally don't GAF if we make staff changes or not. If the narrative is true that it's all talent, well I'd expect them to keep the staff in place for continuity, as you say. At least stay consistent.

Does anybody on this site think Hutzler was the first guy State tried to hire ? The number one choice ? I mean honestly people. How many guys you think said no thanks before Lebby called Hutzler ??

I don’t think people were beating down our door. I do believe we could’ve gotten a sitting DC from somewhere and been way better off than getting a special teams guy with zero DC experience.

It's pretty simple most times. Lenny likely thought he could outscore defense, since that's the way it was many of the places he'd been. He didn't know much about the fit at MSU. Plus, he probably thought he needed a recrooter because all the bruhs around Starkville were like muh Leeach cudnt cRoOt! So you get where we are.

Most ADs and coaches at MSU need to realize that crootin is gonna be what its gonna be at MSU. You won't have the best talent. You simply have to have good fundamental coaches, and make sure there are no gaping holes on your roster. Back in the day, it was MS high school guys, JUCOs and AL/LA rejects. Now the first two are the same, with JUCO slightly less pronounced, and a strategic look at the portal. Most decent coaches will have us in the 20s/30s so you just have to make sure you have good coaching and a steady stream of players.
