Excellent O Lineman Larry Allen dead at 52. Died while on vacation with his family visiting Mexico. He dominated my Eagles for many years in the trenches. Tough as nails….

Offensive Lineman... the weight they need to put on and the stress that puts on the body is insane. I crossed paths with Larry many times over the years and he was a massive human being. I have been friends over the years with a handful of guys who played OL in the NFL (Todd Rucci being one) and if you see them now you would not recognize them. Most of them loss 80+ pounds almost immediately. I don't think Larry took that course. Tragic, 52 is way too young for sure.

I always wondered about him and a few others who play at that weight. Enormous guy and talented but didn’t seem healthy.
