Rivals now has our 2024 class ranked 27th? 13th in SEC (counting Texas and OU)

And this is after the Solomon flip. I was discussing our class rankings on here last week (I think with @DaboSits2PeePee) and noted that our class was ranked 19th, and that was before the Solomon flip. Did some other schools get big-time commits? That's a pretty big drop that doesn't make much sense.

Rivals?? I think you're the one guy looking at that site. lol

On3 and 247 are the clear frontrunners in the recruiting business. 247 has us at 18, On3 has us at 19. The majority of teams ahead of us still have more commits that we currently do.

Eh, our fans have disparaged Rivals, 247, ESPN and ON3 at various times whenever they don't give us our our recruits favorable rankings.

That doesn't answer the question though.

Not sure. I don't know what our score was prior to Soloman. Could just be we pulled closer to the ones ahead of us, but just not enough to overtake anyone. Looking at On3, we are one of 5 teams that have between a 90-91 score. We get fixated on the number, but we are .142 pts behind SoCal. So when I talk about recruiting at a top 15 level, that's what I'm looking at. Can anyone objectively say that a class with a 90.714 score is THAT much better than a 90.117? No. But that's the current spread between 15 and 19 right now.

There’s a long way to go and the rankings will change as time goes by. One thing for sure the rich get richer and that include the fat cats of the SEC. I do think Beamer and his staff have upgraded our recruiting and the roster is improving. Unfortunately that will only make us a middling SEC program in most years with an occasional exceptional year. The competition is just so keen and other programs have built in advantages we lack. Big population base, tradition, Tn. Ga. Ark. little instate competition, etc.
