With as much detail you have provided, how can anyone doubt your assertion?
He is probably referring to Elijah Robinson (former Penn Stater coaching DL at Texas A&M).
It may be, but would be a bizarre hire, particularly if current defensive line coach Scott is staying on - and with Penn State needing a coach to take over the Linebacker duties. I do not believe Robinson has ever been a DC, and his claim to fame thus far in his career is primarily as a recruiter, more so than as a coach - who has been able to recruit kids from the Northeast to come to Texas A&M.

Mike Elko has been the defensive coordinator during Robinson's time at Texas A&M.

Look, in a perfect world you get all of the above:

- Wealth of experience in the role
- Fabulous Recruiter
- Long Term commitment to your University.

When it comes to these guys, top level assistants like MY, or Knowles, Gattis, you just don't get it all. I would be over the moon with this hire. This guy can recruit the type of beasts on the D-Line that we need to compete on a regular basis and one that can sharpen iron with our O-line. He has been around good defense, he is obviously smart(PSU grad, come on), he can grow into being a really great coordinator and will with experience, but his ability to accumulate talent in this region is second to none.

Robinson is arguably the best recruiter in college football. Look at his track record, particularly in the last two cycles. Insane hauls.

Does that translate to a great defensive mind? I don't know. He's learned from one of the better defensive minds in college football. At some point, he's going to want to take that next step so he'll have to get his chops somewhere, right? It's a risk from an Xs & Os standpoint, but a home run from a Jimmys and Joes perspective.

I could see Franklin and Pry “arranging” for Scott Jr. to go to VaTech if Robinson comes here, and thus would still need to hire a LB Coach.

I have my suspicions whether an effective DC can also be an effective position coach. A DC, with no prior DC experiencing, also coaching the DL is an invitation for disaster.

I don't think Scott is going anywhere. Scott + Robinson out on the recruiting trail looking for big uglies? Hell yes. I think with Dex staying, he and Robinson could be co-defensive coordinators which would definitely be an intriguing option.
Who would coach the Linebackers? Assuming we will still have linebackers in the defensive scheme.

Lorig already coaches OLBs to begin with - wouldn't be best case scenario IMO, but it's not like we don't have a LB coach on staff already.

You need to chill with the negativity too btw, Jay.

You have to start somewhere. If I recall correctly Pry was promoted to DC after 3 years with Franklin. Let’s see first whether Robinson gets the job and, if he does give him a chance. Apparently, he’s an excellent recruiter and I remember Paterno once saying it’s not the Xs and Os, it’s the Jimmy’s and Joe’s Usually coaches are better with better players. Ask Joe Brady.

So I am partially Excited about ER and the recruiting capabilities he brings--I think we will definitely definitely get our DL in order--I can see some great 1 Tech and 3 tech tackles 2-deep and some great Ends coming soon!

What Defense is he going to RUN?

Yeah, give Robinson the title of run game coordinator and Dex the title of Pass Game Coordinator. I’d also be happy to bring in the Spanos guy from UConn to coach LBs, but not sure about his recruiting chops with all of his NFL experience

Judging by Florida boards/Twitter, we might want to start thinking of Seider’s replacement.
Makes sense, his kid just graduated, tough year for the backs. He has had a tough time getting kids from his natural recruiting area to stick here. Let's not also pretend to not notice the nice weather, no state income tax, etc.

what would UF be recruiting him as? he is a RB coach with 4 yrs experience . would he be OC? that seems like a big jump.
