Not to mention, that decision to keep Demonte Russell (that no one will discuss) seems like a real doozy now.

Not to mention a decent Clinton family is no longer MSU fans.

What a train wreck.
Why would a family from Clinton no longer be fans of MSU? Big donors no longer donating bc state didn’t kiss the ring?

I have to admit that I've checked out a little this year but after the starting QB went out I thought we were staring down 45-3 and 38-0 type SEC scores with a Freshman QB and zero defense. I've actually been encouraged by the last month. I know the UPig game was a blowout but we left a lot of points out there. Nobody likes giving up a 50 burger but we probably should have been in the high 30s or low 40s. I'd still rather lose while scoring points than lose lower scoring games and struggle to even get in FG range.

But we don't score until the game is over. There's a difference.
Past two games we were still in it going into the 4th. We have not scored in the 4th quarter the last two games. With five minutes left in the a&m game we still had a chance. All we have done is give up sacks and fumbles. In the GA game we were only down 10 going into the 4th. Scoring mattered when we scored. No crap time.

We don't have the best offense, but they score when the game is still winnable. It's the defense that is hurting us the most.

I thought Rosie was fairly accurate. We got started on the portal late and took some not great players. Then tons of injuries to what little talent we had. Sub optimal situation.

Some of yall are blind and will tote any excuse because you hate the AD and the coach.

Those long TD receptions by Booth don’t happen under the great Leach. His knees would have been blown up at the LOS. These TD catches by Coleman don’t happen under Leach because YAC didn’t happen in his offense. There was no movement, no creativity, and not enough WR talent to get open consistently against 8 deep defenders. Not to mention the fact that most of the time, Rogers was still running for his life against a 3 man rush because our OL was so below average.

Lebby has the thing going in a decent direction offensively. His challenge is to make sure he has a good QB room next year and hopefully can keep Coleman and Craver happy.

If you don't think the offense has improved dramatically in the past couple of weeks - I can't help you. And it's not garbage time offense either.

We had 250 yards of offense in the first half vs Arkansas. Just sucked hind tit in the redzone.

Had 270 yards vs Texas A&M.

Multiple is more than a couple scores. What was TX score at the half? Again, semi-competitive game. It was 6 by the way. You guys are reaching. Arkansas is the only game we just sucked.

I agree with you here. I can guarantee Georgia and Texas coaches weren't happy with were they stood vs our horrible team at points as late as the 3rd quarter. We beat the spreads on those games by significant margins.

The problem is, the Arkansas game makes me think that was a complete aberration, not a sign of modest improvement and hope.

Arkansas was a train wreck but we left 21+ points on the field too. Defense was beyond a joke and will cost the DC his job.

Multiple is, by definition, more than one.

In a football game, you can’t score more than 8 points in one possession. Therefore, 9+ points is multiple scores. Not really a debatable topic.

If it’s garbage time yards and points was there a rule put in place for 2024 that teams had to let up in the second half? Because, they sure as 17 weren’t doing that in the previous 3 years.

I respect Matt's opinion for sure. He has said some things during games and his show about the zone coverage.

It leads me to wonder. If Hutzler is coaching in similar fashion to Saban without Saban type players. Meaning he is trying these complex techniques and reads when he just needs to tell them to cover man to man and the rest of them to see ball, get ball. But I'm no DC.
If we put our DBs in man to man a ton things would get way way way way way way worse. We aren’t good at DB and we are even worse at getting pressure on the QB.

im surprised some of you even know how to find a football stadium

And we moved the ball some early against Arkansas. Just had some brain cramps also.

We have 59 new players

FIFTY 17ing NINE
I don’t know what train you’re on, but this is an indictment of Lebby, no one else. He didn’t think the guys here were good enough to keep, or attempt to keep, and brought in his own guys. It didn’t work out.

True, he would have taken our job if he wanted to. I would have stayed at UCF as well. They are a sleeping giant with the right coach. We are not.
1. We’ll never know because we never tried.
2. No, UCF if not a sleeping giant. They’ll never be more than #4 in their own state. And a distant #4 at that.

I suppose Lebby will get it right eventually but it's gonna be a 3 year build. He did run a ton of guys off. Would they have been better than the ones he brought in ? Other than WR and QB they couldn't have been much worse. Tbh I wanted to hire GJ Kinne but that might have been a disaster too. Gus would have done no better.

But at least we would at least get the ball back quicker after they scored, and also have more garbage time, down multiple scores, to run more offensive plays.

That is completely irrelevant to your argument that the ONLY reason we run so many plays is because of a bad defense. Does it play a part? Sure, but even with a decent defense we would still have a similar numbers with regards to plays per game.
No we would not have similar numbers. I’ve already laid out the half time scores of the past 7 games. Do you not understand that teams immediately start to play us differently when they know they are in total control of the game, early? We don’t see their best efforts with regard to schemes or player motivation. They go into vanilla mode keeping us at bay, knowing they are in total control of the game. If our defense was good, then these teams would clamp down, especially on defense, and we would see their best efforts in every way, then you’d see what we have. We wouod have less plays per game then. Our plays per game ranking 15th doesn’t correlate with our scoring and wins/loss record in a good way. It shows we have a ton of plays per game because our defense is bad allowing the other teams to play us differently and garbage time. Not to mention the other teams also substitute players differently. We are definitely not getting their best efforts.

Honestly this whole “build” and “rebuild” talk in regards to college sports is a false narrative, in this era and the last. What is the goal? I’d say for this season, we wanted to be 4-8 or 5-7, not 1-11 or 2-10. To do this is not some astronomical “build”. We just want to have the look of a competent football team, and we don’t have that.

Yea I just need to realize arguing with morons is a losing battle lmao. There is absolutely no data to actually support that and you are just going off of vibes. Straight riffing lol.

False. He turned down everybody that called, & he got a lot of calls including Arkansas where he he's from.
