…..before we sweep up the garage. He said that in reference to dealing with the program before we deal with logos. That’s false!!! That’s shows how clueless our fans, administrators and media really are. Greg Byrne didn’t do that. He fixed the branding, THEN went and got coaches, with a strategic vision for the AD.

Why must we continue to do this? We’ve operated this way our entire existence except for 2009-2022. Why don’t we learn?????

Mississippi State doesn’t even know what it is. We just float around and are grateful we’re in the SEC.

I mean AD offices have multiple departments. Of course that budget is taking a huge hit with the settlement. But the department of nil should be a completely different department or team from branding. Is Selmon not experienced enough yet to compartmentalize snd delegation of activities. Now counsel is probably involved with both branding and nil but how many counselors do we have? Hopefully more than a couple. But still I do t see how branding and nil or fixing football is even closely related.

What does it take to get a new president? He’s the cause of all of this.
Well if he gets an ag position in January that might fix itself. But that depends on next week. Betting sites have that as a high possibility. I trust gamblers more than polls. Not trying to make this political but pres may be gone but a lot of that just depends doesn't mean we would get better one in replacement either

Byrne didn't fix branding at all

Because he understood branding is all about consistency over time. It’s not something you continually “fix” every 5 years.
Well, he wasn't here long at all and we've been stuck with that **** *** M since Templeton. Thank God Selmon wasn't scared to make a change.

Are some of you really talking about apparel and branding and that it’s going to somehow magically fix the dumpster fire that is our football program?
And pretty much our baseball program if you really want to be completely honest.
A competent DC, a competent staff overall when it comes to managing an ever changing roster and unfortunately now $$$$ will fix our issues in both programs.
Nothing else.

Greg Byrne had serious connections. It helps.

NO, dubmass. It’s not about apparel. Sell whatever you want.

Now I see what our problem is. According to Rosebowl we can’t multitask.
Yeah I'm wondering how any of that is related. Sounds like we are a mom and pop small town fast food like a wards. Person takes the order talks into the microphone to turn around and go make the order and hand you the bag when they are done

I really don't understand why everybody is constantly whining about the banner M, STATE script, interlocking logo, what color our pants and helmets are. That doesn't matter to me at all. Seems the least of our problems.

That's what this thread is about. Folks like you and Rosey simply won't get why it's important, and why branding helps. Even the good guys don't get it, for the most part.

OR......you can look at it another way. Why did we try to rebrand in the first place? We didn't need that issue when we were already having to do things elsewhere.

MSU is its own worst enemy and it can't even see that truth. So we can never move forward.

Penn State needs to fix its branding issue. Look at those helmets they wear.

It’s not like we can’t do both. Using his logic we should have just left the helmets & uniforms alone & concentrated on the easy to see forest fire coming.
I guess he thinks coach is doodling logos over there I. The sideline during games…

You know who buys MSU apparel? 99% MSU fans. What logo is used in the grand scheme of things is not that big of a deal.
Evidently the small percentage of fans online think they speak for the masses. Reminds me of the old Twitter. Evidently there are a whole bunch of fans that prefer the M-state as the primary logo, including for the football helmet. Definitely more than the out spoken key board fans. But even moreso, there are a whole lot more non key board fans that like the &cript &tate. Just because I personally don’t buy or like the &cript &tate, doesn’t mean that a whole bunch more women and homosexual effeminate men doesn’t like or buy it. They obviously are.

Everybody knows exactly who that Nittany Lion logo is. Immediately you know it's Penn State because it's been the same forever. It's not building a "brand" if you change it every 5 years
