I know he’s a tater, but he’s a pretty good announcer. He has excitement in his voice, regardless of which team is doing well. That’s what you want from an announcer. Pretty impressed with him.
Totally agree with your assessment. I did not detect any Clemson bias at all during the Palmetto Bowl. Philpot was objective to both teams. As a matter of fact, he teaming with Sam Acho is quite entertaining due to their contrasting broadcasting styles.I know he’s a tater, but he’s a pretty good announcer. No, anytime it’s used in reference to a Clemson fan, “non-odious” is an oxymoron.I think that is a double negative.
It means I'm okay with his announcing.I think that is a double negative.
Philpott was the original owner of CUTigers.com, not TigerIllustrated.Considering it's a good paying gig, Philpott does his job by staying neutral for the most part. If you listened to Kornblut's show 20 years ago regularly like I used to do when Philpott was the Clemson insider (and head guy at Tigerillustrated) you may have a different opinion of him. I remember one time after we had a bad loss when Lou was coaching (believe it was either the '03 ugly loss to Clemson or to some other team around that time), Philpott just trashed Carolina his entire segment. He went as far as to say "they should just burn the entire school down". Kornblut had to tell him that was going way too far. I remember it vividly because it pissed me off so much. Never had much respect for him after that.
Thanks, it's been 20 years. I knew it was one of the Clemson boards.Philpott was the original owner of CUTigers.com, not TigerIllustrated.
He gets paid to sound neutral. It means I'm okay with his announcing.
I don't think he's stealing his wages. He gets paid to sound neutral.
