I wonder what they're gonna throw around in NIL money? Maybe they want in on the SEC too
But, and this is a big ole West Texas butt: "Texas Tech has not yet raised the $200 million in fundraising, but the project expects to break ground immediately after the regular season home finale against Oklahoma on Nov. 26, pending approval from the school’s Board of Regents."

With NIL just getting started, I can't imagine a worse time to commit to a huge debt service. People are probably going to overpay for the next few years on NIL until the novelty wears off and the market stabilized. I would not want to be asking donors to pay for a $200M expansion/reno while at the same time asking them for enough for existing debt service and oho yea, we also need you to come up with a few million a year to keep us somewhat competitive in football, men's basketball, and baseball so we don't get screwed any worse as football realignment continues.
