Sad news. Former Penn State LB Bani Gbadyu has passed away

Very sad news. Prayers for him and his family. Pancreatic cancer is just a horrible disease since by the time it’s found in most people it’s often spread and too late to do much.
For shame, prayers to his family. I remember him well, great player.

Pancreatic cancer and ALS..... if I ever hit the lottery, some of my winnings are going towards research for treatment for those.
Pancreatic cancer is a brutal diagnosis no matter the age but man, at 34 it’s even more so. He was so young.
And what a beautiful young family. This sucks…

I think that there would be an insurance problem. A PET scan would probably pick it up early - but no doc is going to order that and no carrier is going to pay for it as a screening tool only. f I know someone who had some abdominal pain in her late 40's. Follow ups led to a rare, very early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Cured and doing fine. I guess the message there is - be aware and listen to your body.
It can often be found on CT but the issue is the location of the pancreas. Too many important structures very close together. Usually by the time symptoms show it’s invaded surrounding structures and is often inoperable.
