-It was very hot

-Jeremy Shockey's got a high-and-tight. I couldn't recognize him because he normally has that hippie-hair that looks like he's about to go on his next protest march.

-It was very hot.

-Dear Robert Meacham,

You're getting paid millions to drop passes. I know receivers who could get the NFL minimum to drop passes.

-Did I mention it was very hot?

Do you see Meachem becoming trade bait with the possible emergence of another 7th round pick working out at WR? And have you seen Bush working punt returns any? Thanks

...but Arrington looked pretty good catching the ball. With him and Colston, you have two rangy receivers who can catch jumpballs.

As for Reggie Bush, I wouldn't even entertain the thought of putting him on punt returns until late in the season. The Saints will need his legs to be strong and hopefully some running back will step up and get the bulk of the grunt work, opening Bush up to get his touches in the open field where he's more effective.

Here is a saints camp blog a friend of mine has started.

http<span style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow">://lefleursdelis.blogspot.com/

Yes, Adrian Arrington has been looking really good so far in camp, I look for a Colston type breakout.

Reggie has been working on punt returns at most practices, so I would expect to see him in games doing the same.

It is very Hot out there, they changed the practice to 7:30pm tonight and at Memorial.</span>

You can't ask that guy anything and expect an answer with substance regarding the SAINTS since he's a jerry jones homer. I've been to seven of the practices. Meachem as trade bait? I doubt it, he's had a good camp from what I've seen, Arrington and Colston are money at WR so far as training camp goes. I'd rather see Devery get shipped out. You never know what the staff thinks a need is, something may happen after the pre-season starts. Punt return competition has been between Bush, Lance Moore, Skyler Green. At the end of Friday morning's practice Bush muffed his first 2 attempts and had Weatherford stay late to work on it. He made all his catches during Saturday morning's session. The rookie Porter will probably get reps when his hammy gets OK. Bush has been quoted as saying he wants to be the guy on Punt Returns here:
RETURNING PUNTS: Late Friday afternoon, Saints running back Reggie Bush revealed his desire for a role on special teams this season.</p>

"I want to be the full-time punt-returner, " Bush said. "And it starts right now at practice, with just proving to the coaches that I can be the guy back there to make it happen and them giving me a shot."</p>

Asked if he thought the coaches would give him that chance, Bush said: "Yeah, definitely, I think so."</p>

Bush returned three punts for 12 yards in 2007. Receiver Lance Moore led the team by returning 20 punts for 185 yards. Bush had 28 returns for 216 yards and a touchdown in his rookie season.</p>

He dropped two punts during practice Friday morning, even punting one ball back across the field after a miss. But he seemed to catch all of the punts in Saturday morning's session.</p>

More competition for Bush arrived at training camp late Friday, when cornerback Tracy Porter, the Saints' second-round pick, signed his contract. Porter returned punts at Indiana, and Payton said Saturday that Porter will be worked into the Saints' return game.</p>

"The only thing you can do is notify the coach and let him know that it's something that you want to play, it's something that you have in your arsenal, " Porter said. "And the coaches, they do know that I played that at Indiana. So they have me back there in the rotation, catching punts, getting reps, and ultimately it's going to be the coaches' decision on who they want back there."</p>

The Saints aren't the enemy of the Cowboys, the Foreskins are. Just trying to give as objective a report as I could.

What I've seen, the Saints are looking pretty good. If the Saints have a season like 2006, I think Sean Payton would be worthy enough to be promoted to be the Cowboy's Head Coach.

So you think that Jerry would rather have Sean instead of Jason G?

Did you see the move on ESPN, where TO made Pacman look rather normal...
I hear he has been making it rain in Dallas...

The Saints and Cowboys in December 2006? Wasn't that the game where the Saints basically brutalized "America's Team"? I know my lawyer was lighter a lunch the next week. Like you, he follows the Star.

...take Tom Landry's mantle as the head Coach of America's team, the greatest franchise in all of sports. However, the Saints sputtered to a 7-9 record, good enough for most Saints fans but not acceptable to the Cowboys. Let's see if Payton can get Jeremy Shockey integrated into the offense (if Shockey was serious enough to cut off his flowing locks, he may be serious enough to be a real force at Tight End).

I saw Hollis Thomas with some ice around his knee. Just wondering if he can stand up to the pounding of a 16 game season.
