Draw no conclusions based on charges. I'm generally a law and order guy, but I realize a lot of municipal cops use a pullover as an excuse to go fishing.

Concealed carry laws aren't what people think they are and its easy to get tripped up.

Anybody who went through the sort of trauma he did might have "phantom pain" (if you ever get a DVT you'll occasionally feel pain like you are getting another one, when everything is fine)-and that sort of thing can be the on-ramp for addiction to legal or illegal drugs.

This sounds like a traffic stop that snowballed, but it is not clear exactly what happened. Either way, unless more comes out, this sounds like he made some mistakes in terms of registration/permitting, and I would hope nothing major comes of it.
Rule #1: Don't drive an unregistered car if you also have drugs/drug paraphernalia and a non-compliant gun/permit in said car.

It's incredibly easy to get a CCW in Pennsylvania. You walk into the sheriff's office, fill out an application, and give them $20. No excuse for not having the proper permit. Not surprised by the drug stuff, given the rumors.

Yeah, because NOBODY rushed to judgement about Carter, because why would Sweet Sidney Bartlett lie?

Nobody felt the need to virtue signal their opposition to SA (who the hell other than the character from Blazing Saddles says "I like ra**")

Now to prove I am not against experts when they are commenting on relevant matters inside the boundaries of their expertise, here's some whose services I think might be beneficial to you.

While ignorance of the law is no excuse, I understand that unless your weapon is locked and locked separately from the ammunition, if it is in your vehicle with you, it's "concealed carry". It doesn't have to be "on your person". And of course, he simply might have forgotten that cc permits don't transfer like driver's licenses.

If the previous rumors are true (and there was always smoke, now it's fire) Sammy needs legit help. I imagine after he got shot, rehab was not even a thought, it was saving his life and then relearning how to walk.

It might be time to think about that and I hope he can get the help he needs.

I was once informed by an officer that my hunting rifle being under a blanket in my car was considered a concealed weapon. Luckily the guy wasn't being a prick and was informing me. I'd still rather that then some tweaker busting my glass to gank it from the car. Hope Sammy learns from this, it's time to be an adult and being an adult comes with all sorts of hoops and bull crap like car registration and getting CC permits. I assume the " drug" was pot and I could not care less about him smoking pot. Know many wrestlers/BJJ guys who do. Rules are rules though. Tough lesson, good guy by all accounts I'm sure he'll grow from it.

The prior incident rumors are going to go crazy now
Well, this will be the 3rd time there has been something like this related to a public SS incident. First one occurred at a PAWF event, then the shooting, and now this.

It's not a rumor at this point. It sucks for him when it comes to employment, but does anybody else care??? I mean, it's fairly obvious he at least dabbles with recreational drugs. Just like half the population that is his age, including wrestlers.

Will end up being a big nothing burger. The charges will be reduced, and he'll pay a fine. The only issue may be what Lehigh thinks about it. And hopefully it will be the incident that teaches him some lessons like: register your car, pay attention to filing paperwork, and don't take your drugs or drug paraphernalia with you in the car. Things that a lot of young people are slow to learn.

IMO the biggest issue is that he's doing weed in the car.

He wants to do weed, don't care, but stay the hell off the road.

DLs don't transfer automatically either! You have to go through the dread of going to a DMV also 😭

Some states even require a written test on the Driving Law to transfer it.

True, I was thinking more about travelling and visiting, rather than permanent relocation as would I think apply in Sasso's case.

Thanks for the clariufication/correction.

He was carjacked shot and nearly died. Ohio is a Constitutional Carry state meaning no permit is necessary. If a guy had cause to have a gun…it’s this guy. He just moved to Pa…didn’t even have time to register his car. As for the weed…he has permanent injuries and no doubt is in constant pain. It’s 2025…enough with the weed laws. Should be legal everywhere.
FREE SAMMY. Hope he gets a great lawyer. This is BS.

I got run over as a pedestrian 2 1/2 years ago. Driver estimated he was going 30 miles an hour . My collar bone is in 4 pieces( never healed), head and neck trauma that still causes vertigo.
I don't have a weed card.
I take Aleve and on occasion, Robaxin at night which is a muscle relaxer.
I have nothing against someone who uses weed and stays home. Too many are operating vehicles when stoned. A recent local DUI checkpoint had 10 arrest, 7 were from pot, with 5 of the drivers claiming they had a medical marijuana card.

Each one of those individually, fine. But throw them all together and add firearms. That's a no go. The law is clear. Ignorance and not having time are not excuses. Sammy needs to get his act together. And I hope he does.

Despite what he went through, I'd recommend he sell his firearm(s). Other aspects of his lifestyle don't mix well with them. It's just a way to end up in more trouble or worse.

Lol so you think its a hig no to have both a CC and a legal medical mj card but ok to have a CC and consume alcohol. Which to me both ok as long as your not drunk or really high. For those that wonder how many domestic abuse or fights have you seen when they consume MJ?
