Considering that's by far the most serious charges, that could make a significant difference for him.
Agreed . I was kinda referencing the Lehigh situation but wasn't specific .
Update. All the charges are now in question. Reuters has updated their article:

“He is accused of having loaded firearms fire alarms and THC vape THX 8-track tape cartridges in his car … Sasso was pulled over for driving with an expired vehicle registration. He then reportedly admitted to police that he had a gun gum in the driver’s side door panel of his car. …”
One day I'll be able to elaborate on what I know. I can't now. Lawyers can skew events for their clients. That's what they get paid for.
Note, I am not defending Sammy on what happened.

I posted before this breaking news that it looked like some charges could be changing. It was really odd how I heard that. I was at a local festival and I see a lawyer who knows the Lehigh program real well. I commented that it didn't take Lehigh much time to let Sasso go after the incident. Instead of commenting about Lehigh perspective, he made a comment about some of the arrest not being as serious as he was charged. My guess was Sasso had hired the lawyer or firm that I was talking to.

In general, I have beef with most of the excuses that are proffered in Sammy's defense. Specifically, about the cannabis.

Yes, I know it is basically legal, everyone of that generation does it, etc. Heck, I did it in my youth and there have been occasions that I partook in adulthood.

But it can't be just dismissed. if he was driving around with an open container of alcohol, stinking of booze when he got pulled over nobody would be saying to ignore this. And that's basically what he did - just with cannabis instead of booze, and also with a few unregistered guns thrown in.

It's a mistake that would have consequences, including losing your new job as a representative of a university. Nothing life altering, but surely a mistake that comes with some pain and learning.
