Sandy leaving campus on her last day:

She’s like Milton from Office Space, where her incompetence at Cal got her stapler taken away and she was shuffled off to the basement and instead of ending up on an island at the end of the film Sandy gets the keys to the PSU Ferrari.

What a load of bull pucky from Franklin. I didn't realize PSU student athletes were so oppressed 8 years ago.

Ha, I didn't even notice that part. I was trying to figure out what they were number 1 in.

I hope she stays for a farewell at Beaver Stadium this Fall. The fan reaction would be worth the price of admission. May even be better than Delaney got in Indianapolis.

No onion dip and comfortable shoes anymore. I'm not sure anyone on here can know how to assess a University President or an AD. Having said that, everything is so much more expensive it seems at PSU and those two appear to have accelerated the cost on all fronts.

Well this will be an interesting hire by Neeli on several levels. I wonder if she already has someone in mind that she wants to bring with her. The stadium issue looms large as do the burgeoning cost issues of coaches and administrators’ salaries. And the DEI concern is ever present as well. I don’t how much say she will have in this case vs. the BOT, but I suspect there will need to be some collaboration on the selection.

I'm not thrilled with where we're at, except in wrasslin', but it could have been much, much worse.

NATIONAL. SEARCH. o_O

See the link below. From the article:

”UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State will soon launch a nationwide search for a new vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics. The University will work with TurnkeyZRG, the leading executive search firm in the sports and entertainment industries, to recruit Penn State’s next vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA)/athletic director.

Sandy Barbour, who currently serves in this leadership role, announced in March her intention to retire this summer, following eight years of service.

The search firm will assist the University in identifying and recruiting outstanding prospects into the search pool. President-elect Neeli Bendapudi will lead the selection of the next vice president for ICA/athletic director, a direct report, by July 1. Additional information around the search process will be forthcoming.

“Penn State has one of the most successful athletics programs in the country, with a proven track record for educating and graduating our talented student-athletes. Our partnership with TurnkeyZRG will be key to identifying a leader who is well positioned to further elevate the exceptional Penn State athletics experience,” Bendapudi said. “The University will seek a visionary leader to uphold the Nittany Lions’ demonstrated tradition of excellence on and off the field and support the continued development of our students, coaches and staff.””

Neeli’s got this.
