I'm not sure why it should be? It's not obscene. Players taunt and talk trash to a certain degree the entire game.

There are obvious taunting penalties, but it would be the dumbest thing in the world if the SEC treated Texas' own hand gesture as a sacred thing that cannot be mocked.

If the "horns down" by an opposing team after a big play is a penalty, I don't see why the "horns up" by Texas after a big play shouldn't be one as well.

I don't see anything wrong with it. They'll certainly be flashing the Hook 'em Horns sign when they are out there on the road in the SEC kicking @$$, which they will often be doing.

Yes. I'm not sure why one should be a penalty but the other should not.

This is a question the SEC Commissioner should be able to answer without hesitation or be penalized himself.

The question will be answered in a matter of months anyway. I think the question was not in keeping with the euphoria of the moment.

Is it? I hadn't noticed. I guess things like that don't register with me.
It’s discretion by the refs. Florida likely won’t be penalized but if an opposing defender does it then it’s considered taunting.

Was also not aware.

Don't have any problem with it unless it's obvious taunting in a guys' face. I have no issues with celebration as long as they don't cross over into bad sportsmanship.

If a player gives another player the finger, either right side up or upside down, is that a penalty?

Then every school should get to designate one hand gesture that is not allowed to mimicked or mocked by opposing teams.
