My grandson, Chase, and his South Parkland team were guests. They toured the ball park, met the staff and players, and thoroughly enjoyed the Lions 12-7 win over Northwestern.
It was really nice to be on campus again.
Every time I go back to campus I am left with the feeling the topography has not only gotten steeper, but the places i want to go are much, much further away from each other, and require a pit stop on a bench.

I'm glad you and your grandson enjoyed the trip.
Memories are made of this.
For 4 decades I returned to campus from Pittsburgh 10-20 times a year on average. I loved every journey. Sadly, since 2010, I have not been back and doubt I will ever return. My love affair with Dear Old State has ended. The reasons are many, from the treatment of Joe to a Board of Trustees that has run amok. Still, I long for those golden autumns when life was "slow and oh, so mellow" and envy those who still find joy there. Perhaps honoring Joe would bring me back and rekindle the love that has been lost, but I see no possibility of that happening anytime soon and I am not a young man. Ah, but I will always have the memories...so many memories...and that will be enough for me.

Does anyone remember having some HS friends come up for their first weekend in State College? They weren't used to walking 3 - 8 miles everyday and would be crippled by Saturday.

It took me one term to incorporate class location into my schedule planning. You sure didn't want first period in Hammond and second period in the IM Building.

Good hearing from you EPC FAN! Being from the Skook, I know the Lehigh Valley, especially Parkland, have some pretty good baseball teams. With the LV, Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon, and NE PA areas, there's quite a few QUALITY baseball players. The new PSU baseball coach should be making his rounds.

Me, too. Getting old is not for the weak.
